Quinta is the stage name of Katherine Mann, a London-based multi-instrumentalist, solo artist, composer, and session player. She plays the violin, viola, musical saw, and keyboards. Mann's father nicknamed her "Quinta" when she was a baby; he was a teacher of Latin and Greek, and she was the fifth of five children.

Mann is a member of experimental arts quartet Collectress [1] [2] who released their first album Mondegreen in 2014. [3] She has released two solo albums, My Sister Boudicca (2009) [4] [5] [6] and The Quick of the Heart (2017). [7] [8]

Mann has performed with numerous other artists including as one of Bat for Lashes’ Blue Dreams on her Radiohead support tour [9] [10] and as solo accompanist to Patrick Wolf on his Sundark Riverlight Acoustic World Tour. [11] [12]

Since 2010, she has worked extensively with Radiohead's Philip Selway, [13] [14] including on his 2014 album release Weatherhouse [15] [16] and on the acclaimed score for Rambert's Merce Cunningham Event in 2014. [17] [18]

Mann has composed for circus, dance, theatre and television, including for The Paper Cinema, [19] [20] [21] Mimbre, [22] [23] Ockham's Razor [24] and Rambert [25] [26] amongst others.

Mann was Rambert's 2015/16 Music Fellow, [27] British Council/PRSF China Musician-in-Residence in 2017, [28] and PRSF Composer Fund awardee in 2019. [29]

Weatherhouse is the second album by the English musician Philip Selway, released on 6 October 2014. It features musicians in Selway's backing band. On 31 July 2014 a music video was released for the first single from the album, "Coming Up for Air". On 22 September 2014 a music video was released for another song on the album, "It Will End In Tears". Whereas Selway's first album, Familial (2010), was largely acoustic, Weatherhouse features more ambitious arrangements and electronic elements.

On 16 June 2012, the stage collapsed during the setup for a concert by the English rock band Radiohead in Downsview Park in Toronto, Canada. A drum technician, Scott Johnson, was killed, and three other members of Radiohead's road crew were injured. Radiohead and other recording artists offered tributes and condolences.

<i>Strange Dance</i> 2023 studio album by Philip Selway

Strange Dance is the third studio album by the English musician Philip Selway. It was released on 24 February 2023 via Bella Union. It comes almost nine years after Selway's previous studio album, Weatherhouse, not including Selway's composition of the soundtrack to the film Let Me Go in 2017. The album received generally positive reviews.
