UGK was an American hip hop duo from Port Arthur, Texas, formed in 1987, by Chad "Pimp C" Butler and Bernard "Bun B" Freeman. They released their first major-label album, Too Hard to Swallow, in 1992, followed by several other albums charting on the Billboard 200 and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts, including the self-titled Underground Kingz album, which contained their single "International Players Anthem " and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, in August 2007. The duo has also been featured on hit singles by several other artists, such as "Big Pimpin'" by Jay-Z and "Sippin' on Some Syrup" by Three 6 Mafia. Pimp C founded UGK Records in late 2005. On December 4, 2007, Pimp C died in his West Hollywood, California hotel room.

Slum Village is an American hip hop group from Detroit, Michigan. The group formerly comprised the rappers Baatin (1974–2009) and T3 and the rapper and producer J Dilla (1974–2006). J Dilla left in 2001 to pursue a solo career with MCA Records. Elzhi joined in his absence, after which Baatin also left due to health complications.

The album includes collaborations with Z-RO, T.I., Talib Kweli, Rick Ross, Jazze Pha, Kool G Rap, Big Daddy Kane, Slim Thug, Dizzee Rascal, Too Short, Charlie Wilson, Middle Fingaz, Outkast, Three 6 Mafia, and many more. Production mainly came from Pimp C, N.O. Joe, Lil Jon, Jazze Pha, Swizz Beatz, DJ Paul & Juicy J, Scarface and Marley Marl.
Adam Vincent Schreiber, better known by his stage name Qwel, is an underground rapper and author, originally from Chicago, Illinois. Qwel is co-founder of the underground rap crew Typical Cats, with fellow MCs Denizen Kane and Qwazaar, and producers / DJs Kid Knish and DJ Natural. Qwel has also released full-length collaboration projects with producers Maker, Jackson Jones, Meaty Ogre, Mike Gao, Silence and Kip Killagain. Qwel's label is Galapagos4, which he is an integral part of, along with co-founders Jeff Kuglich and fellow rapper Offwhyte.
iSouljaBoyTellem is the second studio album by American rapper Soulja Boy. It was released on December 16, 2008, by Collipark Music, Stacks on Deck Entertainment and Interscope Records. The album was mostly produced by Soulja Boy, along with several record producers such as Drumma Boy, Jim Jonsin, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League and Zaytoven, as well as the guest appearances from Gucci Mane, Shawty Lo and Yo Gotti, among others. He is also a founding member of Asian-American spoken word group I Was Born with Two Tongues.

Bat Meets Blaine is the debut full-length collaboration between Chicago-based rapper Qwazaar, of the group Typical Cats, and Berlin-based producer Batsauce. The album was released on September 13, 2011, on Galapagos4. It is the follow-up to their debut EP Style Be the King, released the previous July.
Kristian Powlowski, better known by his stage name Kay the Aquanaut, is a Canadian alternative hip hop artist from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He has released nine albums and has toured internationally. He is signed to Galapagos4 and has released several records with his wife Lady Daisey and with Typical Cats member Qwazaar.
