Mehran Azma, who creates works under the alias R. Barrows, is an American musician, [1] designer, [2] writer, [3] editor, [4] producer and radio-show host. [5]

Born in the USA, he spent the latter half of the 90s singing and playing guitar in post-punk act The Nightmare Syndicate, who toured and supported acts like The Murder City Devils, The Blood Brothers, The Rapture and others, [1] [6] and was a touring guitarist for the punk band Swindle in the Southern California area. [7] During this time, he was also the editor-in-chief of online music publication Light Up The Sky [4] and contributing writer for OC Weekly. [3] After the dissolution of his previous efforts, he attended Otis College of Art and Design where he received his BA in Graphic Design [8] and continued to play music as bassist and vocalist of Baby's Breath, [9] and released solo material under the moniker Nevers. [10]

In 2011, he relocated to Portland, Oregon and began hosting a weekly radio show called Past Haunts on local radio-station PRA. After the closure of the station due to financial stress, the show was moved to House of Sound where he continues to host on Sunday mornings. [5] In 2013, he also began co-hosting a second radio show entitled Echo's Answer on KXRY 107.1 FM & 91.1 FM. In 2014, he launched SINIS Recordings and released the first record on the label by Warm Hands. [11] In 2015, he marked the end of Echo's Answer and transitioned Past Haunts onto XRAY.FM, where he continues to broadcast weekly. [12]

Dr. Demento American disc jockey

Barret Eugene "Barry" Hansen, known professionally as Dr. Demento, is an American radio broadcaster and record collector specializing in novelty songs, comedy, and strange or unusual recordings dating from the early days of phonograph records to the present. Hansen created the Demento persona in 1970 while working at Los Angeles station KPPC-FM. He played "Transfusion" by Nervous Norvus on the radio, and DJ "The Obscene" Steven Clean said that Hansen had to be "demented" to play it, and the name stuck. His weekly show went into syndication in 1974 and was syndicated by the Westwood One Radio Network from 1978 to 1992. KOCI-LP is a low-power FM radio station branded as "101.5 KOCI". This station is broadcasting a Classic rock music format. This station is licensed to Newport Beach, California and is broadcasting to the Orange County area. It can be heard in Costa Mesa, and can reach as far as Westminster, Garden Grove, and Tustin.
