RSJ were an English metalcore band from York, England.
Started in 2002, the band set about creating heavy, groovy, noise metal. The band took their name from the construction term Rolled Steel Joist, an 'in-joke' to referencing "a good support or a piece of heavy metal".
Their debut EP, The Day After, was released in September 2002 and paved the way forward, gaining worldwide sales through the band's website and earning them a loyal fanbase. Their high-energy live shows landed the band supports with Funeral for a Friend, Raging Speedhorn and Orange Goblin.
2004 saw RSJ sign to Hangmans Joke Recordings and released their second EP, Blueprint for a Brighter Future. The EP featured the band's debut promo video for the track 'Reborn' and saw their first small screen appearance on British music channel, Scuzz TV. The EP received critical acclaim with Nuts magazine hailing the band as "the heaviest band to come out of the UK in a long time". In April 2004, a member of Bullet for My Valentine's management team saw RSJ play a show in Reading and were offered a support slot to with American metal-core band, Unearth, at the Camden Barfly in London in June of that year.
In 2005, the band signed to British independent label Copro Records and saw their first album Reflections in B Minor. Produced by Dave Chang (Earthtone9), the 12-track album received further reviews and gave the track "Dystonia" an inclusion on Metal Hammer's monthly cover disc.
Australian grindcore band, The Berzerker, chose RSJ as one of the rotating support bands for their 2006 14-day UK trek for their 'World of Lies' album, again giving flawless reviews of their energetic stage shows and leading to further articles in Metal Hammer and Kerrang!. In autumn of that year, the band went back into the studio to write material for their next album, Gain to Nothing, which was released the following year.
In October 2007, the band won the Glasswerk "Best New Metal Band" award, which automatically earned them a headline slot on the Scuzz TV stage at 2008's Bloodstock festival. The band took the remainder of 2007 to write new material.
Shortly after their appearance at Bloodstock, drummer Rich Hardy left the band. A month later, RSJ won the "15 Minutes Of Fame" competition which was hosted by Metal Hammer, Scuzz TV and the Radio One Rock Show - which won the band an opening slot on Slayer's third "Unholy Alliance" tour alongside Amon Amarth, Mastodon and Trivium. Dom White of The Family Ruin, filled in while the band searched for a new drummer. In December, Greg Parsons was named as RSJ's new drummer and the band set out to write new material for their as-yet-untitled third album.
In 2010 the band opened the Jägermeister Stage at Sonisphere Festival, Knebworth, England. They entered the studio shortly after to record demos for their as-yet-untitled third album.
The band played a few shows during the course of 2011 including opening up for Will Haven on their single UK show that at the O2 Islington Academy in London.
2012 saw RSJ's debut appearances at both Hammerfest and Hard Rock Hell: Road Trip to Ibiza festivals. Spring and Summer 2013 saw the band being invited back to Hammerfest and HRH: Road Trip to Ibiza festivals for the second time. In November, they were announced as main support for American Headcharge during their "Shoot" tour. While on the road, the band released their third album Higgs Boson.
In August 2014, the band completed writing tracks for their fourth album, Giant Glenn and was recorded live and produced by ex-Earthone9 and This Is Menage guitarist, Gez Walton in November 2014. After numerous hold ups, Giant Glenn was eventually released in September 2016.
On 8 May 2017 the band announced via their Facebook page that "After 15 years of blood, sweat & beers, it’s not without heavy hearts that we’ve come to the decision to lay ((RSJ)) to rest.". Their final appearance as a band was at Fibbers on 21 July 2017.
Skindred is a Welsh heavy metal band formed in Newport, Wales, in 1998. Their musical style mixes heavy metal, alternative rock, and ragga. The band also integrate elements of punk rock, hardcore punk, dancehall, jungle, ska, hip hop, drum and bass, dubstep, and various other influences into their music. They are well known for their energetic and involving live performances, and have won several awards including "Best Live Band" at the 2011 UK Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards and the "Devotion Award" at the 2011 Kerrang! Awards.
Deadfall was an English thrash metal band from Nottingham, England. Picking up where guitarist Mike Thompson's old band Polaris had ceased, Deadfall were among a collection of new fast rising thrash bands hailing from the UK, as part of the 'new wave' of UK thrash metal. Other such names include Headless Cross, Pitiful Reign and Evile.
The Kut is a London-based alternative rock project, assembled by frontwoman and self-taught multi-instrumentalist Princess Maha. They have received extensive radio and music press coverage including from Planet Rock, BBC Introducing, Kerrang!, Metal Hammer, Big Cheese, Q Magazine and Classic Rock Magazine The debut album Valley of Thorns reached #7 in the UK Rock Albums Chart and #18 in the UK Independent Albums Chart and re-entered with the Digital and Vinyl release week ending 9 Nov 2018.
Gutworm were a British extreme metal band from Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, England, formed in 1999.
Savage Messiah are an English heavy metal band formed in May 2007 in London. The band was formed by guitarist and lead vocalist Dave Silver and also consists of guitarist Joff Bailey, bassist Míra Sláma, keyboardist Carlos Alcalde De Lema and drummer Charly Carretón.

The band have garnered positive critical attention for their live performances. They are releasing their fourth studio recording The Dead Stay Dead in the Summer 2015.

Fury UK is a British heavy metal band based in Manchester, England. Between 2007 and 2012 the band played a series of important festival appearances, toured extensively with some of the biggest names in the rock/metal genres and released three albums, one EP and one DVD. In May 2012 the band went on long term hiatus when bassist Luke Appleton was recruited by American heavy metal band Iced Earth, following which Fury UK members Chris Appleton and Martin McNee formed a new band called Absolva.
Rise to Remain was an English, London-based heavy metal band, formed in 2006 and disbanded in 2015. The band made appearances at Download Festival, Sonisphere Festival and extensively toured the UK and Europe. The band released three EPs, the majority of which were "viral" releases, via their MySpace. On 16 March 2011 they signed their first major recording contract with EMI records, which was accompanied by the launch of their website and a free single download entitled "The Serpent". Their debut album, City of Vultures, was released on 5 September 2011, nearly a year after they had started work on recording the album. It was produced by revered metal producer Colin Richardson and Carl Bown. In 2014, the band released a new single entitled "Over and Over".
Imicus are a five-piece rock/metal band based in and around Luton & London in the UK. The band released their debut album Animal Factory via Transcend Records in May 2010. A single "The Marionette" followed in 2011 via a limited edition release. On 7 August the band announced the worldwide release of a new single 'The Libertine' on 26 September 2014. The band's final album 'Turbulent Skies' is released on 4 May 2015.

Northern Oak are a folk metal band from Sheffield, England. The band formed in 2006 and their debut album, Tales From Rivelin came out in 2008. The band then released two live studio EPs entitled Into The Attic, 28 July 2009 and Northern Oak, before releasing their second full-length album Monuments in December 2010, to acclaim from a number of underground music publications such as Metal Hammer Magazine, Zero Tolerance Magazine, and Terrorizer
Hell are an English heavy metal band from Derbyshire, formed in 1982 from the remaining members of bands Race Against Time and Paralex. Due to a series of unfortunate and tragic events, the band originally folded in 1987. They were amongst the first bands to wear proto-corpse paint as part of their stage show, which featured hysterical ranting from a gargoyle-adorned pulpit, along with the use of a pyrotechnic exploding Bible which caused outrage amongst the clergy when it originally appeared in 1983.
The Defiled were a four-piece British industrial metal band from London, England mixing groove-laden hardcore/metal with electronic music influences. They have been described by Kerrang! magazine as "The saviours of UK Metal" and championed by Metal Hammer as one of the leaders in a new wave of British metal along with bands such as While She Sleeps, Bury Tomorrow and Devil Sold His Soul. The band have built a fanbase following support slots with bands such as Murderdolls, Static-X, Godsmack, Deathstars and Motionless in White as well as playing Download and Sonisphere festivals.
The Dead Lay Waiting were an English metalcore band from Swindon, Wiltshire, formed in 2008 by the means of a local rock school. The group included Luke Lucas (vocals), Ben Connett, Steve Franklin, Sam Sara and Tom Shrimpton (drums).
ACODA are a four-piece alternative metal band from Corby, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom. Formed in 2008, the band consists of vocalist/guitarist Damon Tang, bassist/vocalist Stephen Crook, guitarist/vocalist Jake Crawford and drummer/vocalist Jay Russell. The band are known for their energetic and emotive live shows and blending the musical influences of rock, metal, progressive metal and post-hardcore.
Sinnergod are a five piece English goth rock band from Wigan, England. Their sound is recognisable as an atmospheric, layered wall of sound consisting of guitar driven riffs and symphonic keyboards. The band have built a fanbase following support slots with bands such as The Misfits, Bam Margera of CKY (band) and Jackass, Orgy (band), Blaze Bayley, Eso formerly Esoterica (band), Deathstars and Sarah Jezebel Deva from Cradle of Filth, as well as a Festival Appearance at Bloodstock Open Air in 2007. Metal Hammer magazine labelled Sinnergod as "The new goth kings of Manchester" in the September 2014 issue.

Pythia is an English symphonic metal band founded in London by drummer Marc Dyos, vocalist Emily Ovenden, and guitarist Ross White. Emily was also a member of Mediæval Bæbes whilst Marc and Ross had been in death/thrash metal band Descent.
