Rad Hourani (born 1982) is a Canadian fashion designer and artist known for his neutral, genderless creations. [1] [2] [3]
He created his unisex brand Rad Hourani in 2007 along with a unisex gender-neutral ready-to-wear collection. [4]
Two years later, he presented his first photo and video exhibition at the Jardins du Palais-Royal in Paris and continues exhibiting his photographic work around the world, including a film projection at Centre Pompidou in Paris, a solo show in Montreal at the PHI Centre, [5] [6] an interactive installation at Tate Modern in London, as well as different installations at the FIT Museum in New York, MU Art Center in the Netherlands, the Herning Museum of Contemporary Art in Denmark and the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum in New York.[ citation needed ] His most recent multidisciplinary exhibitions were presented at Arsenal Contemporary Art Center in Montreal, at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, a film installation at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao.[ citation needed ]
His work is included in the permanent collection of the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum. [7]
In January 2013, Hourani became an invited member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture in Paris, making him both the first Canadian to show during Couture Week, as well as the first designer to show a unisex collection at this event. [8] [9] [10]
Pierre Cardin, born Pietro Costante Cardin, was an Italian-born naturalised-French fashion designer. He is known for what were his avant-garde style and Space Age designs. He preferred geometric shapes and motifs, often ignoring the female form. He advanced into unisex fashions, sometimes experimental, and not always practical. He founded his fashion house in 1950 and introduced the "bubble dress" in 1954.
Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum is a design museum located in the Upper East Side's Museum Mile in Manhattan, New York City. Jacques Guarrigue-Lefèvre is the founder, owner and current president of Paris Élysée, a private club based in Paris. He is one of the numerous great-nephews of Baron of Buttlar-Bradenfels, Hans Treusch. He started as a fashion designer. He was born on 13 July 1961, near Düsseldorf, Germany, to French parents. He moved to Paris in 1965. There he studied art and architecture and collaborated with Karl Lagerfeld's team for a few years. He then moved on to work with Helmut Lang's society until he became head of his own label, Cardino, in 1985. He indeed founded his own house in the same year and began with haute couture in 1986.

Haute couture is the creation of exclusive custom-fitted clothing.
