Sivakavi is a 1943 Indian Tamil-language film directed, initially, by P. K. Raja Sandow and later, S. M. Sriramulu Naidu. It starred M. K. Thyagaraja Bhagavathar, S. Jayalakshmi, Serukalathur Sama, Thirupurambal, T. R. Rajakumari, N. S. Krishnan and T. A. Mathuram. The film's screenplay was written by Thiru Muruga Kirubanandha Variyar. The film was shot at Central Studios and released by Pakshiraja Films in Coimbatore. The film was released on 10 April 1943.
Ratha Kanneer is a 1954 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by Krishnan–Panju, and written by Tiruvarur K. Thangaraj. Based on Thangaraj's play of the same name, the film stars M. R. Radha, Sriranjani and S. S. Rajendran, with Chandrababu, M. N. Rajam and S. R. Janaki in supporting roles. It revolves around a returned-from-abroad, westernised rich man who shows arrogance and contempt towards anything part of Indian culture and anyone below his social standards.
Seetha Kalyanam is a 1934 Tamil film produced by Prabhat Film Company. It was the first film for musicians Papanasam Sivan, S. Rajam and Veenai S. Balachander. The film was remade in Telugu in the same year. The film is known to be the first ever Tamil film to be released in colour.
S. Rajam was a distinguished Indian Carnatic musician and painter from the state of Tamil Nadu. He was a student of the Carnatic musician Papanasam Sivan and the older brother of Tamil film director and musician S. Balachander and actress S. Jayalakshmi. Rajam made his Tamil film debut in the 1934 film Seetha Kalyanam. He acted in a few more films in the lead role, before becoming a full-time musician - especially renowned for his singing - and painter. He worked as a staff artist and music supervisor at All India Radio. He is known for his series of portraits of the Trinity of Carnatic music. He is also known for popularising Koteeswara Iyer's musical compositions. He was a member of the Madras Music Academy.
Sathi Murali was a 1941 Tamil-language film directed by Vadivelu Naicker. It starred M. K. Radha, M. R. Santhanalakshmi and T. R. Mahalingam in the lead roles. No print of the film is known to survive, making it a lost film.
Sundaram Jayalakshmi was an Indian Tamil-language film actress and singer who played lead parts in movies of the 1930s and 1940s.
