Rafael Raich was a Spanish footballer who played as a forward for FC Espanya and the Catalan national team. [1] The dates of his birth and death are unknown.

Biography

Born in Catalonia, he signed for FC Espanya along with Agustín Cruella Tena in 1915, [2] for whom he won the Catalan championship in 1916–17.

He played several matches for the Catalonia national team during the 1910s, however, due to the little statistical rigor that the newspapers had at that time, the exact amount of caps he earned is unknown. He was part of the Catalan side that won the second edition of the Prince of Asturias Cup in 1916, an inter-regional competition organized by the RFEF. [3] [4]

He was considered the best Catalan goalkeeper of his time and one of the first great idols of Espanyol, in fact, he was the idol of the great Ricardo Zamora.

Together with Paulino Alcántara, Josep Samitier and Ricardo Zamora, he was part of the great Catalonia side of the twenties that won the 1923-24 Prince of Asturias Cup, an inter-regional competition organized by the RFEF. It's worth mentioning that some reports list him as one of the eleven footballers who represented Catalonia in the infamous final against a Castile/Madrid XI, helping his side salvage a 4-4 draw, and then being a substitute in the replay as Catalonia won the second Prince of Asturias Cup title in their history.

Alfredo Massana Urgellés, was a Spanish footballer who played as a midfielder for Espanyol and FC Barcelona. He had a great placement and vision of the game. Known as a great dribbler, he was one of the best Catalan midfielders of his time. His brother, Santiago Massana, also played for Espanyol and Barcelona. He is also the grandfather of the pianist Tete Montoliu.

Agustín Cruella Tena was a Spanish footballer who played as a forward for FC Espanya, and later become a football referee. In 1928, he was involved in a controversial incident known as "the first ghost goal".

Luis Bru Masipó, born Lluís, was a Spanish footballer who played as a goalkeeper for FC Barcelona. He was the first goalkeeper in Spain to play "the English style", which consisted of blocking the ball instead of kicking the ball away.

Eduardo Reguera Andreu was a Spanish footballer who played as a defender for FC Espanya and FC Barcelona. Reguera was one of the most important footballers in the amateur beginnings of FC Espanya, being a pivotal piece in turning FC Espanya into an important team in Catalonia. Cristóbal Salvó Saura, also known as Salvó I, was a Spanish footballer who played as a midfielder for FC Espanya and RCD Espanyol. He was one of the most prominent Catalan footballers of the 1910s, being considered the best half-winger of his time. His brother Pantaleón also played for FC Espanya.
