Rahmina Paullete, commonly known as Rahmina, is an 18 year old Kenyan climate activist. She is the head campaigner for #LetLakeVictoriaBreatheAgain that advocates for the restoration of Lake Victoria. She is also the founder of Kisumu Environmental Champions, an organization that does environmental wildlife conservation and climate change advocacy.

Education

Rahimna sat for her Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) at the M.A Junior Academy in 2019. [1] She studied at Kisumu Senior Academy where she completed her IGCSE. She is currently an International Relations student at Daystar University. [2]

Career

Paullete is the head campaigner for #LetLakeVictoriaBreatheAgain [3] [4] that advocates for the restoration [5] of Lake Victoria. [6] She is the founder of Kisumu Environmental Champions, an organization that does environmental wildlife conservation and climate change advocacy. [7] [8] [9] She is a member of the Wangari Maathai Foundation [10] and is a part of Fridays For Future. [11] In 2021, she was among the delegates who represented Kenya in the COP26 summit which happened in Glasgow, Scotland. [12] [13] [14]

Hilda Flavia Nakabuye is a Ugandan climate and environmental rights activist who founded Uganda's Fridays for Future movement. She also advocates for greater gender equality and racial diversity in the climate change movement. One of her environmental concerns is saving Lake Victoria, which connects Uganda to neighboring countries. As part of her activism, Nakabuye visits schools and communities to empower more women to join the fight against climate change, stating that "the climate crisis has no borders". She also created Climate Striker Diaries, an online platform to encourage digital awareness about climate change.

Leah Namugerwa is a youth climate activist in Uganda. She is known for leading tree planting campaigns and for starting a petition to enforce the plastic bag ban in Uganda. Following inspiration from Greta Thunberg, she began supporting school strikes in February 2019 with fellow Fridays for the Future Uganda organizer Sadrach Nirere.

Kaluki Paul Mutuku is a Kenyan climate activist and environmentalist, working to improve youth participation in decision-making around climate justice. He is the co-founder of Kenya Environmental Activists Network (KEAN); KEAN is a NGO that provides a platform that will bring together environmental activists. His center of attention for Africa lies around environmental rejuvenation, afforestation, organic farming and youth leadership across boards.

Mock Cop26 was a two week online conference attended by 350 youth delegates from 141 countries held in late November 2020. During the conference a treaty with 18 policies was developed. At the end of the conference the treaty was presented to the UK's High Level Climate Action Champion Nigel Topping.

He is a member of Loss and Damage Youth Coalition and he has advocated for the conservation of Nairobi National Park. Mtai is an organiser at Climate Live which uses music concerts to raise awareness and educate people about climate change. Mtai has also been a campaigner for Food@COP.

Adriana Calderón Mexican climate activist

Adriana Calderón Hernandéz is a youth climate activist and organizer from Mexico. She currently advocates for climate justice with Fridays For Future, Fridays For Future MAPA and Fridays For Future in Mexico. She is one of the co-signers of UNICEF's Children's climate risk index report, part of the delegation of Fridays For Future MAPA that attended COP26, and one of the activists targeting the British multinational bank Standard Chartered and the Mexican state-owned petroleum company Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX).
