Rajalakshmy is a playback singer and made her mark in the Malayalam film music industry by winning the Kerala State Film Award for the Best Playback Singer in 2011. [1]
Rajalakshmy was born on 13 October, in to a musical family in Eranakulam.[ citation needed ] Her talent was recognized at a very early age by her mother Parvathy, who was a professional singer in the early 1960s.[ citation needed ] Rajalakshmy attended St. Ann's English Medium Higher Secondary School, Eloor and Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Eranakulam. She attained a bachelor's degree in English literature from St. Teresa's College, Eranakulam.[ citation needed ]
Rajalakshmy began her career at the age of nine.[ citation needed ] She appeared as a child artist in hundreds of ganamela stages of Tansen Music, Cochin Kalabhavan, Cochin Melodies, C.A.C. She did more than 1000 musical albums, and worked with music directors K. Raghavan, Raveendran, Johnson, Jerry Amaldev, Syam, Ouseppachan, Mohan Sitara Jaya (Vijaya), Vidyasagar, Sharett, M. Jayachandran, Jassie Gift, Bijibal, Deepak Dev, Gopi sundar , Afsal Yusaf, Stephan Devassy, and Rony Raphel.[ citation needed ] Doordarshan's Hamsadwany, the first music competition in Malayalam television, made Rajalakshmy more popular among viewers.[ citation needed ] Rajalakshmy was introduced to the film industry by Jassie Gift in the film Aswaroodan directed by Jayaraj. But a break was given by M.Jayachandran in the film Orkuka Vallapozhum.[ citation needed ]

Jassie Gift is an Indian cinematic music composer and playback singer. He composes songs and sings for Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu films. He became famous after the release of the song "Lajjavathiye" from the film 4 The People.
The music of Kerala has a complex history. It is not the same as Malayalam poetry, although most of it is poetry driven. Kerala has a rich tradition in Carnatic music. Songs formed a major part of early Malayalam literature, which traces its origin to the 9th century CE. The significance of music in the culture of Kerala can be established just by the fact that in Malayalam language, musical poetry was developed long before prose. With the development of music in the region, different branches were formed out of it.
Krishnan Nair Shantakumari Chithra is an Indian playback singer and Carnatic musician. She is honoured with the title First Ladies by the President of India in 2018 for being the first Indian woman to be honoured by British Parliament at House of Commons, United Kingdom in 2003. People of India fondly called her as Little Nightingale of Indian Cinema.

Gayatri Asokan is a playback singer who works mainly in Malayalam cinema. She started her playback career with the song "Deena Dayalo Rama" for the film Arayannagalude Veedu for music director Raveendran. Deepa Miriam is an Indian playback singer of South Indian movies. Her debut film was Naan Avanillai. Deepa rose to fame with the song Kangal Iraandal in the Tamil movie Subramaniapuram.
Janakan (transl. Father) is a 2010 Indian Malayalam-language crime thriller film directed by N. R. Sanjeev and written by S. N. Swami, starring Suresh Gopi and Mohanlal. The music was composed by M. Jayachandran. It was released on 8 April 2010 in Kerala and was distributed by Maxlab Entertainments. Janakan is credited as the 200th film appearance of Suresh Gopi. The film won the Kerala state Film Award for Best playback singer - Female for Rajalakshmy for the song "Olichirunne".
