Rajanwala is a town near the bank of the Chenab River in Pakistan's Jhang District. The nearest major town is Chund Bharwana. In the time of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, Rajanwala was a business centre, known for its market. A ritual fair was organized by Hindus in the nearby village of Massan.
Agriculture is Rajanwala's main source of income. Different melā festivals are important parts of the town's cultural activity. The annual melā festival at the shrine of Syed Laal Ajmair and Saaid Jalaal is held for four days.

Kumbh Mela is an important Hindu pilgrimage, celebrated approximately every 6 and 12 years, correlated with the partial or full revolution of Jupiter and representing the largest human gathering in the world.

The Beverley Folk Festival is a three-day celebration of folk music, art, comedy and spoken word held in Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It was first organised in 1983 by the White Horse Folk Club and grew considerably over thirty years, being located both at Beverley Leisure Centre and at local venues in the town. In 2013, it moved to Beverley Racecourse and ran until 2018 when it fell into liquidation, resulting in a smaller programme of events being hosted in the town as Beverley Fringe Festival that year. It returns in 2022 again as the Folk Festival.

Kot Baloch is a village in Mandi Bahauddin District, Pakistan, located eight kilometres north of Mandi Bahuddin. It was well known during British rule due to its organized bazaar and local markets which were under the control of the Hindu community. The village is named after the Balouch tribes who traditionally came here with their families and camels for summer grazing. They lived beside a bend in the River Jhelum which was a suitable, sheltered location. They spent six months in the area and then went back to their native areas for the winter season. Later Marth and other Gondal (clan) families came from the Sohawa and Jehlum side area near Mandi Bahauddin and started cultivating the land, building temporary houses. After some years the Balouch families stopped coming to the village but the name of the village remains Kot Baloch. Now there are no Balouch people left in the village.
The Edinburgh Mela is an annual multi-cultural festival held in Edinburgh, Scotland, and is one of the 12 festivals that make up the Edinburgh Festival. The first mela, a Sanskrit word meaning "gathering" or "to meet", was held in 1995 at Meadowbank Stadium, and was organised by members of the city's minority ethnic communities. The festival moved to Pilrig Park in 2000, and to Leith Links in 2010. Running over three days in September, the event attracts around 20 to 25,000 people each year.
Canterbury Cricket Week is the oldest cricket festival week in England and involves a series of consecutive Kent home matches, traditionally held in the first week in August. It was founded in 1842, although a similar festival week was first held in 1839 by the Beverley Cricket Club, the predecessor of Kent County Cricket Club. Since 1847 it has taken place at the St Lawrence Ground, Canterbury, before that it was held at the Beverley Ground in the same city. The week continued through the Second World War with cricket being held on the ground each season.

The Sibi Mela is an annual cultural show held in Sibi, in the Balochistan Province of Pakistan. The first Sibi Mela was held in Sibi in January 1885. It has subsequently developed into a cultural festival, with animal markets, camel racing, tent pegging and exhibitions of handicrafts, tribal dresses and folk dances.
