Rajendra Prasad Singh (born 5 November 1965) is a historian,linguist,professor,author and activist known for his critical analysis of Indian history and culture. [1] [2] [3] [4] He has been a professor at Shanti Prasad Jain College since 1996 and was promoted to be the Head of Department of Hindi in February 2024. [5] [6] His writings has been published in Bharatiya Bhasha Parishad. [7]
Singh was born on 5 November 1965 to Budh Ram Singh. [5] He did schooling in his hometown. He completed Bachelor oi Arts in Hindi fversity. His post-gra,then he completed Master of Arts University. He received his doctorate in Hindi language from Banaras Hindu University in 1994. [5]
He got his first job as a lecturer in Veer Kunwar Singh University. In the following years consequently got promoted to editor and later on as a Professor at Shanti Prasad Jain Mahavidyalaya. He is an awardee of Dr George Grierson Award by the Bihar government for his contribution to the study of Languages. [1] [7]
He has written plenty of books on language,literature &history from an Indian subaltern lens. His first and following many works/books on linguistics were published by Rajkamal Prakashan. [8]

Sachchidananda Hirananda Vatsyayan,popularly known by his pen name Agyeya,was an Indian writer,poet,novelist,literary critic,journalist,translator and revolutionary in Hindi language. He pioneered modern trends in Hindi poetry,as well as in fiction,criticism and journalism. He is regarded as the pioneer of the Prayogavaad (experimentalism) movement in modern Hindi literature.
Ramdhari Singh,known by his pen name Dinkar,was an Indian Hindi language poet,essayist,freedom fighter,patriot and academic. He emerged as a poet of rebellion as a consequence of his nationalist poetry written in the days before Indian independence. His poetry exuded Veer Rasa,and he has been hailed as a Rashtrakavi and Yuga-Chāraṇa on account of his inspiring patriotic compositions. He was a regular poet of Hindi Kavi Sammelan and is hailed to be as popular and connected to poetry lovers for Hindi speakers as Pushkin for Russians.
Ram Chandra Shukla,better known as Acharya Shukla,was an Indian historian of Hindi literature. He is regarded as the first codifier of the history of Hindi literature in a scientific system by using wide,empirical research with scant resources. As an author he is best known for Hindi Sahitya Ka Itihaas (1928–29).
Acharya Shivpujan Sahay was a noted Hindi and Bhojpuri novelist,editor and prose writer. He contributed in pioneering modern trends in,as well as in fiction. His texts "Mata ka Anchal" also printed in CBSE Book. In the text Mata ka Anchal,he has shown a wonderful bond with mother. He also conferred him with Padma Bhushan award by the Government of India.
Gajanan Madhav Muktibodh was one of the most prominent Hindi poets,essayists,literary and political critics,and fiction writers of the 20th century.
Harihar Singh or Bihari Ji Singh (1925-1994) was an Indian politician and a former Chief Minister of Bihar. He succeeded Bhola Paswan Shashtri,as the Chief Minister of Bihar in 1969. Harihar Singh's tenure as Chief Minister lasted just a few months –he led an INC-led coalition government and all six members of Soshit Dal,a constituent party of the coalition,defected to the Opposition during a budget session of the Bihar Assembly.
Devarshi Kala Nath Shastry was born on 15 July 1936. He is a Sanskrit scholar and was honoured by the President of India in 1988. He is an Indologist and a prolific writer in Sanskrit,Hindi and English,and a well-known linguist,who has contributed to the campaign of evolving technical terminology in Indian languages and ensuring a respectable status for Hindi,the official language of his state and the Indian union.
Dr. Ram Ratan Bhatnagar (1914-1992) was a Hindi scholar,professor in the Hindi Department at the University of Sagar,writer and critic of Hindi literature and poetry.
Litterateur and parliamentarian Shankar Dayal Singh was twice elected to the Parliament of India. He was one of the youngest members of the Fifth Lok Sabha,in which he represented the Chatra parliamentary constituency in Bihar. Contesting his maiden Lok Sabha election in 1971,he defeated Smt. Vijaya Raje,the wife of Sri Kamakhya Narayan Singh,Raja of Ramgarh. He was again elected to the upper house,the Rajya Sabha,in 1990 from Bihar.

Bhojpuri literature includes literature written in Bhojpuri language. Bhojpuri has developed over a course of 1300 years,the development of the language started in 7th century. The earliest form of Bhojpuri can be seen in the writings of Siddha Saints and Charyapada. Distinct literary traditions in Bhojpuri language date back to medieval periods when saints and bhakts of the region adapted a mixed language for their works.
Namvar Singh was an Indian literary critic,linguist,academician and theoretician. He received his doctorate degree from Banaras Hindu University where he also taught for some time. He served as a professor of Hindi literature in several other universities. He was the founder and first chairman of Jawaharlal Nehru University's Centre of Indian Languages and continued to remain as a professor emeritus after his retirement in 1992.

Rameshwar Singh Kashyap was a Bhojpuri playwright,screenwriter and professor of Hindi at Patna University. He is best known for his Bhojpuri play Loha Singh which was gained immense popularity on Radio in 1970s. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 1991.
Manoranjan Prasad Sinha was a Bhojpuri poet,author and professor and Principal of Rajendra College,Chapra. He is famous for his Bhojpuri poem Firangia,which he wrote in 1921 during Non-cooperation movement. He was also elected as the president of 18th Bihar Hindi Sammelan at Motihari.
Sudha Arora is an Indian author who writes in Hindi. She has published over 100 short stories,novels,and plays. Her works have been widely translated into various Indian and foreign languages. Some of them have also been adapted for television and stage. Her first story was published in September,1965. She is a recipient of numerous local awards for her stories as well as for her contributions to Indian feminist literature in Hindi.
Laxmi Narayan Sudhanshu (1906–1974) was an Indian writer,litterateur,poet,independent activist and political leader. He won the 1952 Bihar Legislative Assembly election from an assembly seat in Purnia. He also held the post of Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly from 1962 to 1967. Sudhanshu is known for actively participating in the Quit India Movement in 1942. He was imprisoned in Bhagalpur jail by the Britishers.
Shri Babu Ram Paliwal was an accomplished poet and writer in Hindi and Braj languages. He was best known for his early work ‘Karyalaya Nirdeshika’for which he received awards by the Government of India and Uttar Pradesh Government. He contributed as Hindi expert in the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Communications,the Government of India. He made significant contributions towards the development of Hindi language. He was the producer of the 'Braj-Bharati' program of Aakashwani,All India Radio,New Delhi. He had a multifaceted personality and had extensive knowledge of Hindi,Braj and English languages.
