Rajesh Garg

Rajesh Garg, sometimes known as Rajesh Garg Rohiniwala, is an Indian politician. [1] He was elected a Member of the Legislative Assembly from the Rohini constituency in the 2013 Delhi Legislative Assembly elections. He is also a Right to Information activist. [2]

Political career

While a student at the University of Delhi, Garg was a member of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student and youth wing of Bharatiya Jan Sangh. He left ABVP to join a student leader who had left the National Students' Union of India, the student and youth wing of the Indian National Congress in the same year, to form a Chhatra Morcha, in order to contest Delhi University Students' Union elections. Garg was elected president.[ citation needed ]

Garg's wife fought an election on the Congress ticket. In spite of being a Congress member, he took part in the Jan Lokpal Andolan. [1] Aam Aadmi Party suspended Garg when he released an audio tape featuring Arvind Kejriwal. He alleged that Kejriwal's men used to call him and other MLAs, pretending to be leaders from Bharatiya Janata Party and asking for support. [3]

Kapil Mishra is an Indian politician from Delhi. Before joining the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2019, Mishra was an Aam Aadmi Party MLA representing Karawal Nagar in the Sixth Legislative Assembly of Delhi.

Voters turnout was recorded at 62.82%, a decline of 4.65% from the previous assembly election in Delhi but 2.2% more than the 2019 Indian general election in Delhi. The term of the assembly elected in 2015 expired on 22 February 2020. The Aam Aadmi Party, led by Arvind Kejriwal won 62 seats to claim an absolute majority in the elections.

Aam Aadmi Party Delhi or AAP Delhi is a state wing of Aam Aadmi Party. AAP became a state party in Delhi in 2013. The party contested its first election in Delhi in 2013 and was successful in winning 28 seats in a hung assembly. It got outside support from Indian National Congress and Arvind Kejriwal became the Chief Minister of Delhi but he resigned after 49 days due to differences with INC. In the following 2015 elections, AAP won 67 of the 70 seats in the assembly, limiting BJP at just 3 seats and INC with none and Kejriwal was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Delhi. AAP formed the government again in the subsequent 2020 Delhi Legislative Assembly election, winning 62 seats.

Durgesh Pathak is an Indian politician and Member of Legislative Assembly in Delhi. He is a senior member of the Aam Aadmi Party and Political Affairs Committee and National Executive In-charge of the party.
