Rallyday

Rallyday is an annual demonstration event for rally cars held at Castle Combe racing circuit in Wiltshire, England.

The inaugural event took place in 2001 and was organized by Brian Stubbings and Darin Frow of the Mitsubishi Lancer Register, the UK owners club for Mitsubishi Lancer cars. Rally Supercar Day, as it was called in its first year, was held on May 5 and was attended by 2,500 people. [1]

2004 saw the introduction of the 'Raid on Castle Combe', where desert racers were showcased on the circuit infield. [2] In 2005, 25 years of the Audi Quattro was celebrated. The 2005 event was also the last public appearance by Richard Burns, the 2001 World Rally Champion before his death. As a tribute, the 2006 show saw his father Alex Burns lead 50 Subaru Impreza RB5 (a special edition produced to commemorate his 2001 championship) around the circuit. [3] In 2008, Mikko Hirvonen, who was in contention for the 2008 World Rally Championship title, attended the show and performed demonstration runs in his Ford Focus WRC. [4]

Today, the event attracts around 10,000 spectators each year. [5]

Fifth Gear Recharged is a British motoring television magazine series on Discovery+ and Quest. It is a continuation of the Fifth Gear format originally broadcast on Channel 5 from 2002 to 2011, afterwards moving to Discovery Channel in 2012, and then in 2015 to History. Since its return in 2018, it has been broadcast on free-to-air channel Quest. The show is currently presented by Vicki Butler-Henderson, Sid North, Karun Chandhok and Jason Plato with Grace Webb and engineer Jimmy de Ville also involved in reports. Sno*Drift is a rally racing event held in Montmorency County, Michigan, annually, with headquarters in Atlanta, Michigan. The event is currently the first Rally America National Rally Championship event of the season. Currently the event is organized into three distinct rallies: the national championship event covering both days of rallying, and two regional rally events each covering one of the two days. Competitors may be entered in any or all of these events simultaneously.

Stig Lennart Blomqvist is a retired Swedish rally driver. He made his international breakthrough in 1971. Driving an Audi Quattro for the Audi factory team, Blomqvist won the World Rally Championship drivers' title in 1984 and finished runner-up in 1985. He won his home event, the Swedish Rally, seven times.

Ralliart is the high-performance and motorsports division of Mitsubishi Motors. It was responsible for development and preparation of the company's rally racing and off-road racing vehicles, as well as the development of high-performance models and parts available to the public. Ralliart scaled down its business activities in April 2010, though the brand will continue to be used by Mitsubishi.

The 1985 World Rally Championship was the 13th season of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) World Rally Championship (WRC). The season consisted of 12 rallies following the same schedule as the previous season. Peugeot Sport's Timo Salonen beat Audi Sport's Stig Blomqvist and Walter Röhrl to the drivers' title. Peugeot won their first manufacturers' title, ahead of Audi and Lancia.

He also won the 2004 Group N Finnish Rally Championship title, and debuted in the World Rally Championship during the 2006 season.
