Ralph Cullinan (born 14 November 1965) is a South African cricketer. He played in sixteen first-class and five List A matches from 1984/85 to 1992/93. [1]

The Cullinan Diamond is the largest gem-quality rough diamond ever found on Earth, weighing 3,106 carats (621.20 g), discovered at the Premier No.2 mine in Cullinan, South Africa, on 26 January 1905. The Premier Mine is an underground diamond mine owned by Petra Diamonds in the town of Cullinan, 40 kilometres (25 mi) east of Pretoria, Gauteng Province, South Africa. Established in 1902, it was renamed the Cullinan Diamond Mine in November 2003 in celebration of its centenary. The mine is a carrot-shaped volcanic pipe and has a surface area of 32 hectares. The mine rose to prominence in 1905, when the Cullinan Diamond – the largest rough diamond of gem quality ever found – was discovered there.

Daryll John Cullinan is a former South African first-class cricketer who played Test cricket and One Day Internationals for South Africa as a specialist batsman. He was regarded as the most gifted batsman of his generation as he was equally adept against pace or spin. Cullinan has said that his most important batting fundamentals were his balance, knowing where his off-stump was and getting his defence in order. He ended up playing 70 tests and 138 ODIs for South Africa. Cullinan's career Test average of 44.21 is only surpassed by ten South Africans with more than ten Tests. At the time of his retirement, he held the record for scoring the most test centuries for South Africa, with 14. Cullinan was a member of the South Africa team that won the 1998 ICC KnockOut Trophy, the only ICC trophy the country has won to date.

Sir Thomas Cullinan was a South African diamond magnate. He also gave his name to the nearby South African town of Cullinan. He was honoured by the African Methodist Episcopal Church in Tembisa which named their church after him.
