Virbhadra Singh was an Indian politician who served 6 terms and 21 years as the 4th Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh. A leader of the Indian National Congress party, he was elected 9 times as an MLA and 5 times as member of the Lok Sabha. Virbhadra Singh was popularly known by the honorific Raja Sahib. Besides this he has been in Indian Institute of Public Administration, Indian Council of World Affairs, Bharat Krishak Samaj, Indian Society of Agriculture Economics, Amnesty International, participated in Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Confeence from 1979-84etc. Wrote famous book titled -"Scheduled Tribes of Himachal Pradesh ". Once again, occupied the chair of Speaker in Himachal Pradesh Assembly after winning June 1990 election.
