Ramanand Tiwary

Ramanand Tiwary was an Indian politician and member of Lok Sabha. He was elected to the Lok Sabha in 1977 from Buxar as a Janata Party candidate. Earlier he served as Police minister and home minister of Bihar from 1967 to 1971. He was associated with socialist parties and was member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly from 1952 to 1972 from Sahpur Assembly seat. [1]

Early life and education

Ramanand Tiwari was son of late Shri Nathum Tiwary and born at Ramdihana Village, Bhojpur District in 1909. He got education up to Primary standard. He got married with Smt. Sulakshana Devi in 1936. He was father of 3 sons and 1 daughter. Let. Krishnand Tiwary, Shivanand Tiwary, Umanand Tiwary and Gita Tiwary Shivanand Tiwary is RJD leader. He was a Political and social worker. [2]

His name was also in "Giniz book of world record" for creation of Bihar police and jail mess association.

Babu Bindheshwari Prasad Mandal was the chief of the Murho Estate and an Indian politician who chaired the Mandal Commission. Mandal came from a rich Yadav landlord family from Madhepura in Northern Bihar. He served as the seventh Chief Minister of Bihar in 1968, but he resigned after 30 days. As a parliamentarian, he served as the chairman of the Second Backward Classes Commission, popularly known as the Mandal Commission. The commission's report mobilized a segment of the Indian population known as "Other Backward Classes" (OBCs) and initiated a fierce debate on policies related to underrepresented and underprivileged groups in Indian politics.

Madhu Limaye, full name: Madhukar Ramchandra Limaye, was an Indian socialist essayist and activist, particularly active in the 1970s. A follower of Ram Manohar Lohia and a fellow-traveller of George Fernandes, he was active in the Janata government that gained power at the Centre following the Emergency. He, with Raj Narain and Krishan Kant was also responsible for the collapse of the Morarji Desai-led Janata government installed by that coalition, by insisting that no member of the Janata Party could simultaneously be a member of an alternative social or political organisation. This attack on dual membership was directed specifically at members of the Janata Party who had been members of the Jan Sangh, and continued to be members of the right-wing Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the Jan Sangh's ideological parent. The issue led to fall of the Janata government in 1979, and the destruction of the Janata coalition.

Tulsi Singh Yadav also Known as Tulsi Singh is an Indian politician. He was elected to the Bihar Legislative Assembly from Karakaat as a member of the Samyukta Socialist Party and Janata Dal in 1967, 1969, 1980,1990 and 1995. In 2000, Yadav lost Bihar Legislative Assembly to Arun Singh as a member of Rashtriya Janata Dal. He contested 2009 Lok Sabha election from Karakat constituency as a member of Samajwadi Party but lost to Mahabali Singh. Yadav died on 4 November 2015.
