Ciutat Vella is a district of Barcelona, numbered District 1. The name means "old city" in Catalan and refers to the oldest neighborhoods in the city of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Ciutat Vella is nestled between the Mediterranean Sea and the neighborhood called l'Eixample. It is considered the centre of the city; the Plaça Catalunya is one of the most popular meeting points in all of Catalonia.

It originates at Plaça de Cervantes and ends in Avinguda Catalunya. It hosts the former Maternity home, now Lleida Public Library, the art-nouveau buildings Cases Balasch, the Lleida Bishopric Palace, the Museu de Lleida Diocesà i Comarcal, as well as the main University of Lleida campus, built in 19th-century neo-gothic style.
Lleida Pirineus is an important railway station serving the city of Lleida in Catalonia, Spain. It is located between the neighbourhoods of Pardinyes and Rambla de Ferran. The first train services in Lleida date of 1860, but the station wasn't built until 1927, and it did not adopt its current official name until 2003, when it underwent an ambitious reform. As a transport hub connecting the interior of Spain with the Corredor Mediterráneo, it serves both broad gauge and standard gauge trains, operated by both Adif-Renfe and Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya. It is the terminus of several regional railway services centered in Aragon and Catalonia. It's also one of the stations on the Madrid–Barcelona high-speed rail line, and it was its north-eastern terminus until 2008.
Dreta de l'Eixample is a neighborhood in the Eixample district of Barcelona, Catalonia (Spain). It is located east of Carrer de Balmes. It includes Plaça de Catalunya, the centre of the city, and the upscale streets Rambla de Catalunya and Passeig de Gràcia. It is the bourgeois neighborhood of the city, which makes the majority of its population belong to the upper class of Barcelona. Dreta de L'Eixample is one of the most luxurious neighbors of Barcelona.
The University of Lleida is a university based in Lleida (Catalonia), Spain. It was the first university in Catalonia and the whole Crown of Aragon. It was founded in 1300, using the name of Estudi General de Lleida.
Avinguda de Catalunya is a thoroughfare in the city of Lleida, Spain. On one end it is a prolongation of Rambla d'Aragó while on the other it meets Plaça d'Espanya and the river Segre. An extension into the Cappont neighbourhood, on the other side of the river, through the Pont de la Universitat, is underway. Most buildings are relatively recent, and include the infamous Edifici dels Sindicats, or Labor Union building, also called the "Ducados building" because of its alleged resemblance to a Ducados blue cigarette box. Demonstrations in Lleida usually go through Avinguda de Catalunya. The Lleida coach station, a rather decayed infrastructure, lies on one of the ends of the avenue as of 2010. It will be replaced by a newer structure near the Lleida-Pirineus railway station.
Avinguda Prat de la Riba, formerly called Avenida del General Mola during the Francoist dictatorship, is one of the main avenues of the city of Lleida. It is 2.5 km in length and 25 meters wide, with 3 lanes in each traffic direction. It is named after the Catalan politician Enric Prat de la Riba, whereas its former namesake was Emilio Mola. When created, it was a merely 805 meters long originating at Plaça de Ricard Viñes and ending by Carrer del Príncep de Viana. Years later, with the expansion of the neighbouring Pardinyes district, the street grew to reach the railway tracks. The latest addition to Prat de la Riba was a bridge and green area covering the now-underground railway tracks.
The Public Library of Lleida, also formerly called Biblioteca Pública de la Maternitat, is a public library in the city of Lleida. Its legal owner is the Generalitat de Catalunya. The building was originally a 19th-century maternity house, that is, an orphanage located in the Rambla d'Aragó and has operated as the town's main library since 1998, when it was heavily reformed.
