Rameez Nemat (born 14 November 1986) is an Indian first-class cricketer who plays for Jharkhand. [1]
Nemat's father is a professor of social work at Jamia Millia Islamia,and his mother is a school teacher. He did his schooling from Delhi Public School,Mathura Road,and went on to pursue BA Political Science and MBA from Jamia Millia Islamia.
Nemat started playing cricket at the age of 12 and represented Delhi at the Under-14,Under-16 and Under-19 levels. He later moved to Jharkhand and was made captain of the state Under-22 team in 2008-09. He became a member of the state Ranji team in the same year. [2]
Jamia Millia Islamia is a public and research university located in Delhi,India. Originally established at Aligarh,United Provinces during the British Raj in 1920,it moved to its current location in Okhla in 1935. It was given the deemed status by the University Grants Commission in 1962. Jamia Millia Islamia became a central university by an act of the Indian parliament which was passed on 26 December 1988.

Prior to this,he was teaching Geology at the University of Delhi.

Ashraf is an elected fellow of the National Academy of Sciences,India,Indian National Sciences Academy and Indian Academy of Sciences,and an elected member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences. The Department of Biotechnology of the Government of India awarded him the National Bioscience Award for Career Development,one of the highest Indian science awards,for his contributions to biosciences in 2017–18. Ashraf currently serves as a professor and Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences at Jamia Millia Islamia.
The Jamia Millia Islamia attack refers to the forceful entry by Delhi police into the Jamia Millia Islamia university during a confrontation with student protesters that started outside the campus on 15 December 2019. Hundreds of police officers forcefully entered the campus and detained more than a hundred students during the confrontation with the protesters. The police used batons and tear gas to disperse protesters. The police also entered the university library and washrooms and in the process of the violence ransacked parts of it. The visuals of students being dragged and assaulted by the police were telecast by news channels. About two hundred people were injured and were admitted to AIIMS and the Holy Family Hospital.
Abdul Lateef Azmi was an Urdu litterateur and among the close associates of the founders of Jamia Millia Islamia. He joined Jamia Millia as a student of B.A. in 1936 and served the university over 50 years in various capacities. He was one of the longest serving editors of Jamia Millia's official magazine,Jamia. He died in Delhi on May 11,2002. In 1985,Maktaba Jamia,New Delhi,published a book Abdul Lateef Azmi Hayat-o-Khidmat. Several scholars contributed chapters in the book on various facets of Abdul Lateef Azmi and his life.
Asif Iqbal Tanha is an Indian student activist,a former student of Jamia Millia Islamia and a member of Students Islamic Organisation of India. He was allegedly involved in the Delhi Riots conspiracy case and is an accused under the UAPA Act. Tanha is also associated with United Against Hate (UAH),a campaign that was started in July 2017 in response to the series of lynchings and hate crimes in India.
Syed Abid Husain Sr. Secondary School (SAHSSS) is a self-financed school located in Jamia Nagar,Okhla,Delhi. It falls under the jurisdiction of Jamia Millia Islamia,its parent University. When JMI shifted from Aligarh to Karol Bagh in 1925,the premises of Jamia Schools were one of the first to be built in Okhla. The school itself was founded in 1989 as a private self-financed school under Jamia Millia Islamia. Admissions are conducted on the basis of entrance examinations for classes 6th,9th and 11th and on the basis of drawing of lots for preschool. Although the school has its own board,it follows the CBSE pattern.
