Moffett is a town in Sequoyah County, Oklahoma, United States. It is part of the Fort Smith, Arkansas-Oklahoma Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 128 at the 2010 census, a decline of 28.5 percent from the figure of 179 recorded in 2000.

Moffett Glacier is a tributary glacier, 13 nautical miles (24 km) long, flowing east from Rawson Plateau to enter Amundsen Glacier just south of Mount Benjamin, in the Queen Maud Mountains of Antarctica. it was discovered by Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd on the South Pole flight of November 28–29, 1929, and named by him for Rear Admiral William A. Moffett, U.S. Navy, first Chief of the Bureau of Aeronautics, Department of the Navy.
Patrol Squadron 91 (VP-91) was a patrol squadron of the U.S. Naval Reserve. It was the second squadron to bear the VP-91 designation, the first VP-91 was redesignated VPB-91 on 1 October 1944. The squadron was established on 1 November 1970 and deactivated 29 years later, on 31 March 1999. It flew the Lockheed P-3 Orion, and was based at NAS Moffett Field during its entire life. The squadron's nicknames were the Pink Panthers from 1970 to 1984, the Stingers from 1984 to 1991, and the Black Cats from 1991 to 1999. Units of the squadron made 25 major overseas deployments.

In the primary, he defeated John Jay Hooker, who was a friend of former Governor Gordon Browning, and had been endorsed by the Nashville Tennessean. Ellington was endorsed by President Lyndon B. Johnson, and the Nashville Banner. In the general election, Ellington defeated both Independent candadates H.L. Crowder and Charlie Moffett with 81.2% of the vote.
