The Seattle Seahawks are a professional American football team based in Seattle. The Seahawks compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member of the National Football Conference (NFC) West division. The club entered the NFL as an expansion team in 1976 in the NFC. From 1977 to 2001, Seattle was assigned to the American Football Conference (AFC) West; the team rejoined the NFC in 2002. They have played their home games at Lumen Field in Seattle's SoDo neighborhood since 2002, having previously played home games in the Kingdome (1976–1999) and Husky Stadium.
Matthew Michael Hasselbeck is an American former professional football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 18 seasons, primarily with the Seattle Seahawks. He played college football for the Boston College Eagles and was selected in the sixth round of the 1998 NFL draft by the Green Bay Packers. After a season on the practice squad and two seasons backing up Brett Favre, he was traded to the Seattle Seahawks in 2001, where he spent the majority of his career. Hasselbeck led Seattle to six playoff appearances, including the franchise's first Super Bowl appearance during the 2005 season. He was selected to three Pro Bowls in his career. Hasselbeck also played for the Tennessee Titans and Indianapolis Colts. He is a former analyst for ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown and Monday Night Countdown.
Marcus Lavon Trufant is an American former professional football player who was a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL) for ten seasons. He played college football for Washington State Cougars, and was chosen by the Seattle Seahawks 11th overall in the 2003 NFL draft.
David Steven Brown was an American professional football player who was a cornerback for 15 seasons in the National Football League (NFL) for the Pittsburgh Steelers (1975), Seattle Seahawks (1976–1986), and Green Bay Packers (1987–1989). He was selected as a second-team All-NFL player in 1984 and a second-team All-AFC player in 1985. His 62 career interceptions ranks tied for tenth in NFL history, with only five players having more interceptions in a career since his career ended in 1989. His 50 interceptions with the Seahawks remains a club record.
Brandon Jerome MebaneMEE-bayn; is an American former professional football player who was a defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL). He attended Crenshaw High School in Los Angeles. He played college football for the California Golden Bears. He was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the 2007 NFL draft. He also played in the NFL for the San Diego / Los Angeles Chargers.
Maxwell McCandless Unger is an American former professional football player who was a center in the National Football League (NFL) for 10 seasons. He played college football for the Oregon Ducks and was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the second round of the 2009 NFL draft. Unger was the starting center for the Seahawks in Super Bowl XLVIII.
Randall Ladonald Cobb II is an American former professional football wide receiver who played 13 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Kentucky Wildcats, earning All-American honors in 2010. Cobb was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the second round of the 2011 NFL draft. He also played one season each for the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, and New York Jets.
Richard Kevin Sherman is an American former professional football cornerback who played 11 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). Sherman played college football for the Stanford Cardinal, beginning his career as a wide receiver before moving to cornerback as a junior. He was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL draft. He was selected to the Pro Bowl five times and voted All-Pro five times, including three times to the first team, and led the NFL in interceptions in 2013, when he also helped the Seahawks win their first Super Bowl. Sherman is regarded as one of the greatest cornerbacks of all time.

He played college football for the Utah State Aggies and was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the second round of the 2012 NFL draft. Wagner also played for the Los Angeles Rams in 2022.
Quinton Jefferson is an American professional football defensive tackle for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL draft. He played college football at Maryland. He played for the Seahawks from 2016 to 2019, as well as brief stints for the Los Angeles Rams, Buffalo Bills, Las Vegas Raiders, and the New York Jets. Jefferson has played for the Seahawks three separate times. In 2024, Jefferson signed a one-year deal with the Cleveland Browns.
Shaquill Griffin is an American professional football cornerback for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL). He is the twin brother of former linebacker Shaquem Griffin, and both brothers played college football for the UCF Knights. Griffin was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the 2017 NFL draft.
Rashaad Armein Penny is an American former football running back who played for six seasons in the National Football League (NFL), primarily with the Seattle Seahawks. He played college football for the San Diego State Aztecs and was drafted by the Seahawks in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft. After five seasons with the Seahawks, Penny spent one season with the Philadelphia Eagles before retiring in 2024.

Dareke Young is an American professional football wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Lenoir-Rhyne. Dareke went to Middle Creek High School in Apex, North Carolina from 2014 to 2017. In high school, he had 29 catches, 502 yards and 5 touchdowns and only had three losses in his career while also earning Academic All-Conference honors.
