Randall Poster is an American music supervisor and a long-term collaborator with Wes Anderson. [1] He worked on the films Skyfall (2012), The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014), and The Irishman (2019), [2] as well as the TV series Vinyl (2016). [3]

Passionate about music and film, he started in music supervision sourcing songs for a script he co-wrote with a friend at the Sundance Institute. [4] In 2011, Poster's work on the Boardwalk Empire soundtrack earned him a Grammy Award for Best Compilation Soundtrack. [5]

The Guardian defined Randall's soundtracks as "simply great jukeboxes." [6] He is the founder of the music supervision company Search Party [7] sourcing music for film, TV, advertisement and branded content. In advertising, his credits include Prada, [8] Jimmy Choo and Calvin Klein.

In addition, Poster co-wrote the screenplay for A Matter of Degrees , a film set in and around a college radio station, directed by W.T. Morgan and released in 1991.

The Irishman is a 2019 American epic gangster film directed and produced by Martin Scorsese from a screenplay by Steven Zaillian, based on the 2004 book I Heard You Paint Houses by Charles Brandt. It stars Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci, with Ray Romano, Bobby Cannavale, Anna Paquin, Stephen Graham, Stephanie Kurtzuba, Jesse Plemons, and Harvey Keitel in supporting roles. The Irishman (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is the soundtrack album to the 2019 film The Irishman directed by Martin Scorsese. The film score is written and composed by Scorsese's norm collaborator Robbie Robertson who also compiled the soundtrack with music supervisor Randall Poster. It features both original and existing music tracks. Sony Music Entertainment released the soundtrack digitally on November 1, 2019 and through physical formats on November 29. In addition, a vinyl edition album which was specially cut at Abbey Road Studios, London was released on February 7, 2020.

The soundtrack album featured original compositions from Alexandre Desplat and supplemented existing music by Benjamin Britten, as well as classical songs from Hank Williams, Leonard Bernstein, Frank Schubert and Françoise Hardy. Both Anderson and Randall Poster compiled the film's soundtrack.
