Mario-Ratko Delorko, also known as Ratko Delorko, is a Croatian pianist, composer, producer and conductor who lives in Germany.
He is not to be confused with homonym Croatian opera singer (tenor) Mario-Ratko Delorko (1916–2002), also known as Ratko Delorko.
He was born in Hamburg in 1959 and studied in Düsseldorf, Cologne and Munich. He has performed at concerts worldwide and his repertoire covers works from baroque to contemporary music. He has recorded Gershwin’s complete piano oeuvre, Mozart piano concertos, and a live Chopin recital at the Berlin Philharmonic. He also performs at open-air events, and has held a concert in the Dachstein Ice Cave in the Austrian Alps. [1]
Delorko has many first recordings of previously unknown compositions. He also plays ‘Jazz meets Classic’ concerts together with Christoph Spendel. [2]
Ratko Delorko’s compositions include music for piano, chamber music, orchestral works and electronic music. [3] He has recorded a CD with the title The History of the Piano for the New Classic Colours label. This album includes selections from the baroque era to contemporary, performed on twenty different original keyboard instruments of the respective eras.
Ratko Delorko currently teaches Master Classes in Europe, [4] the USA, and Asia. [5] He lectures at the Music University of Frankfurt, Germany in addition to his tour schedule. He also writes articles and tests instruments and music software for music magazines. [6]
Claudio Arrau León was a Chilean pianist known for his interpretations of a vast repertoire spanning the baroque to 20th-century composers, especially Bach, Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin, Schumann, Liszt and Brahms. He is widely considered one of the greatest pianists of the twentieth century.

In 2012, Leif Ove Andsnes has signed to Sony Classical, and recorded for the label the "Beethoven Journey" project, which included the composer's five piano concertos with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. The works were recorded over three years, beginning with Piano Concertos Nos 1 and 3 in 2012, followed by Concertos Nos 2 and 4 in 2013 and the Fifth Piano Concerto and Choral Fantasy in 2014. Constantin "Dinu" Lipatti was a Romanian classical pianist and composer whose career was cut short by his death from causes related to Hodgkin's disease at age 33. He was elected posthumously to the Romanian Academy. He composed few works, all of which demonstrated a strong influence from Bartok.

Joseph Alfidi was an American pianist, composer, and conductor and initially a child prodigy. He was born in Yonkers, New York as the son of American-born parents of Italian descent, his father, Frank Alfidi, was an accordion player who ran a music school in Yonkers. Known as "Joey" in his childhood, he was three when he started to play several instruments in his father's studio. By the age of four, he frequently improvised little compositions at the piano, and soon became fascinated by symphonic music as well.
Paul McNulty is a builder of historical pianos, described by the New Grove as "famous for the high standard of [his] instruments." Within the community of builders, McNulty is noted for his efforts to extend the production of historically informed instruments later into history: while he has built many fortepianos in 18th-century style, he has also progressively sought to span the gap between the fortepiano and the fully modern piano that emerged around the last third of the 19th century. Tzvi Erez is an Israeli–Canadian pianist. He was born in Israel and began his piano studies at the age of six. He moved to Canada and graduated from The Royal Conservatory of Music, where he trained with Mildred Kenton, Andrew Burashko, and Antonin Kubalek. Carlo Grante is an Italian classical pianist. He graduated at the National Academy of St Cecilia in Rome with Sergio Perticaroli. Later he also studied with Ivan Davis, Rudolf Firkušný, and Alisa Kezheradze. He is known as a performer of mainstream classical composers such as Franz Liszt, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Domenico Scarlatti, as well as highly demanding late romantic and 20th-century composers such as Leopold Godowsky, Ferruccio Busoni, George Flynn, Roman Vlad, Michael Finnissy, Alistair Hinton, and Kaikhosru Shapurji Sorabji.
