Ratna Shumsher J.B.R. was the Inspector General of Police of Nepal Police from 1990 to 1993. [1] He had also been the first Additional Inspector General of Nepal Police (AIGP). [2] He was preceded by Hem Bahadur Singh was succeeded by Moti Lal Bohora as the police chief. [3]

Ratna Shumsher J.B.R. was described by fellow police officers as a very honest police officer.

Chandra Shumsher Jung Bahadur Rana Sri 3 Maharaja of Nepal

Field-Marshal Maharaja Sri Teen Chandra Shumsher Jung Bahadur Rana was the Prime Minister of Nepal from the Rana dynasty. He served in this capacity from 27 June 1901 to his death in 1929, after he successfully deposed his liberal and reformist brother Dev Shamsher. Although generally perceived as despotic and conservative, he is credited with several reforms including the abolition of slavery and the Nepal-Britain Treaty of 1923, which recognized Nepal as an independent nation and an ally of Britain.

Commander in Chief Kiran Shamsher Jang Bahadur Rana (1916–1983) was a Nepalese army officer. He served as the Royal Nepalese Army's Commander-in-Chief from 1951–1956 and as the Nepalese ambassador to the United Kingdom from 1973–1977. Over the course of thirty years, he served as Aide-de-camp General to King Tribhuvan, King Mahendra and King Birendra.

Nepal Police National Police Force of Nepal

Nepal Police is the national and primary law enforcement agency of Nepal. It is primarily responsible for maintaining law and order, prevention of crime and crime investigation within the jurisdiction determined by the Constitution of Nepal. Rana (name) Name list

Rana is an Indian name of Parsi and Hindi origin meaning "king" in South Asian languages and is the masculine derivative of the Sanskrit word "rānī" meaning "queen". It was commonly used as a princely title by the Nepalese Rana dynasty and by Rajput kings that ruled under a Maharana in the Indian subcontinent. It is today more commonly used as a surname or given name for males, especially in Mumbai, Gujarat and Rajasthan. Hem Bahadur Singh

Hem Bahadur Singh is a retired chief of the Nepal Police. He is the last I.G.P. to wear the "Khaki" uniform. It was during his tenure as police chief that the 1990 People's Movement occurred.

Moti Lal Bohora was the chief of Nepal Police from 1993-1997. He succeeded Ratna Shumsher J.B.R. as the police chief and was succeeded by Achyut Krishna Kharel.

Toran Shumsher Jung Bahadur Rana was the first police chief of Nepal Police after its establishment in the year 2007 B.S. However, he only remained chief for a short duration of three days. He was succeeded by Nara Shumsher J.B.R. as the police chief.

Gyan Bahadur Yakthumba Limbu was a Nepali police officer and diplomat. He joined the Nepali Police with the rank of Major and was promoted to the rank of Inspector General of Nepal Police, after succeeding Nara Shumsher J.B.R. as the police chief. He served as the Inspector General of the Nepalese Police force from December 1953 to August 1956. He was the third chief of Nepal Police, and after retirement served as an envoy to Burma.

Pradip Shumsher J.B.R. is a former chief of Nepal Police, who served as the IGP from September 1999 to December 2001. He was preceded by Achyut Krishna Kharel and was succeeded by Shyam Bhakta Thapa as the police chief. During his tenure as police chief, he had introduced Mahendra Police Swimming Complex, which cost a budget of Rs. 7 crores. The Royal Palace Massacre (2001) had also occurred during his tenure as police chief.

Shyam Bhakta Thapa is the 18th IGP of Nepal and the last police officer of Nepal Police to serve as the police chief during the Maoists Insurgency. He was preceded by Pradip Shumsher J.B.R. as the police chief and was succeeded by Om Bikram Rana. He had been the police chief during the Peoples Movement II.

Sarbendra Khanal is 26th Chief of Nepal Police. He was appointed as the Chief of Nepal Police after succeeding Prakash Aryal on 10 April 2018 by the cabinet decision of the Government of Nepal. He was former spokesperson of Nepal Police. Khanal as SSP of Nepal Police and in charge of Metropolitan Police Crime Division, has led the encounter of notorious gangster Kumar Ghainte and solved the football match fixing case. In the football match fixing case, he along with junior officer Inspector Sudip Raj Pathak, had led to the investigation of match fixing scandal in the Nepal national football team and found four players - Bikash Singh Chhetri, Anjan KC, Ritesh Thapa and then team Captain Sagar Thapa as guilty. AFC General Secretary Dato Windsor John also welcomed Sarbendra Khanal along with Sudip Raj Pathak to the AFC House at Kuala Lampur and quoted as:

It is an honor to welcome Deputy Inspector General Sarbendra Khanal and Deputy Superintendent of Nepal Police Sudip Raj Pathak to the AFC House. They were instrumental in investigation of important match fixing cases in Nepal in 2015.

Cholendra Shumsher JBR is a Nepali jurist. He is the 29th Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Nepal. He has been appointed by President on the recommendation of Constitutional Council of Nepal and oathed by Bidhya Devi Bhandari, President of Nepal on 2 January 2019.

Bhim Shumsher Jung Bahadur Rana Nepalese head of state (b. 1865, d. 1932)

Bhim Shumsher Jung Bahadur Rana ruled Nepal from 26 November 1929 until his death on 1 September 1932. He was born on 16 April 1865.

Dhir Shumsher Rana

Dhir Shumsher Kunwar after 1848 known as Dhir Shumsher Kunwar Ranaji or Dhir Shumsher Jang Kunwar Ranaji or shortly Dhir Shumsher Rana posthumously known as Dhir Shumsher Jang Bahadur Rana was a Nepalese politician, army general and minister of state. He served as the Commander-In-Chief of the Nepalese Army from 1879 to 1884 A.D. He was born in Kunwar family as the youngest son of Kaji Bal Narsingh Kunwar and Ganesh Kumari Thapa, daughter of Kaji Nain Singh Thapa of Thapa dynasty. Dhir Shumsher was the youngest brother of Jang Bahadur Kunwar Ranaji, who rose to premiership of Nepal after the murders of influential persons - Mathabarsingh Thapa and Gagan Singh Bhandari and the incidence of Kot Massacre. Dhir was personally involved in the massacre protecting his nearly slaughtered brother Krishna Bahadur Kunwar Rana. Dhir became military Colonel after the incident. He was in the entourage of Jung Bahadur's visit of Europe in the early 1850s.

Bahadur Shumsher Jung Bahadur Rana Nepalese diplomat

Lieutenant-General Sir Bahadur Shumsher Jung Bahadur Rana C.B.E GCSI was a Nepalese diplomat. He was the first Nepalese Ambassador to the United Kingdom.
