Rauno Heinla (born 7 June 1982) is an Estonian professional strongman competitor. [1] He is a specialist in the deadlift events and is regarded as one of the best deadlifters in the world. [2] [3]

Strongman career

Born in Tartu, Estonia, Rauno started his Strongman career 2000 in local strongman competition Kõrveküla rammumees, first national title was by winning the Estonia's strongest Man competition in 2008. [4] He's the only Estonian to win this title 6 times following the footsteps of Tarmo Mitt and Andrus Murumets (both who won 5 times each). For most of his career, Rauno trained with fellow Estonian Strongman Lauri Nämi.

Rauno identifies heavy stones and deadlift for reps as his favourite events, and also recognizes that he needs to improve his truck pulls and super yokes. [5]

In his career spanning across 22 years, Rauno has competed over 45 international competitions and 8 single event contests. [6] On September 13, 2020, Rauno broke the 400 kg Deadlift (standard bar) for repetitions world record with 6 reps under World's Ultimate Strongman Feats of Strength series. [7] Along with Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson and Eddie Hall, Rauno is also one of only a handful of men who has Deadlifted 1,000 lbs (453.5 kg) or more, quite a few times. [8] He has done it both in conventional and sumo variations.

On December 3, 2023, Rauno participated in the Official Strongman Games 40s class he ended up winning his first Masters title adding to Runners up he earned last year

Krzysztof Radzikowski is a professional strongman competitor from Głowno, Poland. Edward Stephen Hall is a British media personality and retired strongman. He is best known for his world-record setting 500 kg (1,102 lb) deadlift in 2016 which is widely regarded as one of the most important lifts in the history of strongmen. He is also known for winning the 2017 World's Strongest Man competition.

Mateusz Kieliszkowski is a Polish strongman competitor, notable for winning the 2019 World's Ultimate Strongman competition. He is also a two-time World's Strongest Man runner-up, three-time Arnold Strongman Classic runner-up, one time Europe's Strongest Man runner-up, and five-times Poland's Strongest Man.

World's Ultimate Strongman was an annual strongman competition which was held from 2018 to 2021 with the participation of top strongmen from all over the world, determining who is the strongest man in the world. The event was noted for its brute-strength-centricity and expanded the sport to a wider audience outside of Europe and USA. It also introduced the 'feats of strength' series in 2020, ensuring the continuous expansion of the sport during the Covid-19 pandemic. The competition has a number of rival and parallel competitions, including the World's Strongest Man, the Arnold Strongman Classic and the Giants Live Tour.

The 2019 World's Ultimate Strongman took place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates between October 24th and 25th. The winner of the inaugural World's Ultimate Strongman Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson did not partake this year due to taking a small break from competing. 2019 World's Strongest Man Martins Licis also did not partake due to injury. The competition had four-time World's Strongest Man Žydrūnas Savickas as a referee; 2017 World's Strongest Man Eddie Hall and 2016 Europe's Strongest Man Laurence Shahlaei were commentators of the event.

Konstantine Janashia is a professional strongman from Georgia. He is a six time Georgia's Strongest Man, three time podium finisher at Europe's Strongest Man, and in 2016, Janashia became the first Georgian to reach the World's Strongest Man final, where he placed fourth.

Luke Richardson is a British professional strongman and powerlifter. He was Europe's Strongest Man in 2020, becoming the youngest winner in the history of that contest. He has also competed twice at the World's Strongest Man competition, coming in 9th in 2020. He withdrew from the 2021 competition due to a distal biceps tendon rupture that occurred during the Loading Medley race in his qualifying heat.

The 2015 Europe's Strongest Man was a strongman competition that took place in Leeds, England on 10 July 2015 at the Headingley Stadium. This event was part of the 2015 Giants live tour.

Oleksii Novikov is a Ukrainian professional strongman. He won the 2020 World's Strongest Man competition, becoming the second Ukrainian to win the title since Vasyl Virastyuk in 2004, and at 24 years, 278 days, he is also the second youngest winner in history, being only seven days elder than Jón Páll Sigmarsson in 1984. He is also a two time World's Ultimate Strongman, Rogue Invitational champion and Europe’s Strongest Man.

The 2018 Arnold Strongman Classic was a strongman contest that took place in Ohio, Columbus from 2–3 March 2018 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The Arnold Strongman Classic is the finale of the Arnold Strongman Tour and is seen as one of the biggest and most prestigious strongmen events on the circuit.
