Ravens & Chimes is an indie art rock band from New York City. [1]
Formed in 2005 while studying music and film at New York University,. [2] The band was picked up by Grey Rock Records/Better Looking Records after a demo of their song "The House Where You Were Born" made its way from a friend at a party to Colin Reef, owner of Grey Rock, and SVP/CFO of Rhino Records. Asher Lack, the singer and principal songwriter of the band, is the son of downtown New York artist and former actor Stephen Lack. [3]
Their debut album Reichenbach Falls was recorded by Howard Bilerman and Brian Paulson at The Hotel2Tango [4] in 2006 and released on October 9, 2007 via Grey Rock/ Better Looking Records. [5] The album was mastered by Harris Newman of Grey Market Mastering in Montreal.
The group gained additional notability by releasing a cover of Leonard Cohen's song "So Long, Marianne" which even garnered them praise from Cohen himself. [6] In 2008, German Snowboarding company Isenseven licensed the Reichenbach Falls track "This Is Where We Are". [7]
The band recorded their second album, Holiday Life, with Howard Bilerman and Larry Crane. On February 23, 2011 it was announced that three songs from the unreleased album were licensed to the MTV show Skins (North American TV series), aired in two episodes on March 7 and March 14, 2011. The songs were concurrently released as the iTunes exclusive Carousel EP. The Holiday Life full-length was officially released by Better Looking Records on April 3, 2012.
The band has played shows supporting White Rabbits, Dan Deacon, The Joy Formidable, The Whigs, Holly Miranda, Frightened Rabbit, Rogue Wave, Voxtrot, Hanne Hukkelberg, Har Mar Superstar, Billy Bragg, Tim Fite, French Kicks, The Watson Twins, The Fiery Furnaces, Other Lives, Walk the Moon, Jens Lekman and opened for Sondre Lerche at SXSW 2011.
In January 2012, the band announced their first European tour. The band toured Europe again in November and December 2012 with festival dates including the Autumn Falls Festival in Belgium, Le Guess Who? Festival in the Netherlands and the Kilbi Exil Festival in Switzerland. [8]
Howard Bilerman is a Canadian musician, sound engineer, and record producer based in Montreal, Quebec. He co-owns the hotel2tango recording studio, and played drums for the band Arcade Fire.

Field Commander Cohen: Tour of 1979 is a live album by Leonard Cohen, released in 2001. Songs were recorded live at the Hammersmith Odeon, London, on 4, 5, and December 6, 1979, and at the Dome Theatre, Brighton, on December 15, 1979. It has been said Cohen considered it his best tour ever.
"Rebellion (Lies)" is a song by Canadian indie rock band Arcade Fire. It was the fourth single released from the band's debut album, Funeral. The single was released in both CD and DVD formats with the song "Brazil" as the B-side. The single peaked at number 19 on the UK singles chart, the band's best performance on this chart to date. On the album Funeral, "Rebellion (Lies)" immediately follows the song "Haiti", the ending of which has the same bass beat and leads right into the beginning of "Rebellion (Lies)". The song has enduringly been the band's closing song at appearances at music festivals and at the end of most of their shows. In October 2011, British pop singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor released a cover in support of Songs to Save a Life, a benefit project in aid of Samaritans.

Math and Physics Club are an American indie pop band based in Seattle, Washington, United States. Its members are Charles Bert and Ethan Jones. James Werle played lead guitar until he died in 2018. Kevin Emerson (drums) continues to play on recordings though no longer a full time member of the band. The band has released three EPs and four full-length albums on Santa Barbara-based Matinee Recordings, with UK distribution on Fika Recordings. They are often associated with Australian labelmates The Lucksmiths and twee pop band Tullycraft, and Pitchfork Media described their work as "music to hold hands to" after The Lucksmiths' song on the album "Why That Doesn't Surprise Me".

At the Cut is a 2009 album by Vic Chesnutt. It was his penultimate album release before his death on December 25, 2009, from an overdose of muscle relaxants. The song "Flirted with You All My Life" alludes to Chesnutt's own attitude toward suicide, including his previous attempts to take his own life. Along with North Star Deserter, this album features various members from the Canadian post-rock band Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra, as well as Fugazi's vocalist and guitarist Guy Picciotto.

Yanqui U.X.O. is the third studio album by Canadian post-rock band Godspeed You! Black Emperor, released on November 4, 2002 by Constellation. It was recorded by Steve Albini at Electrical Audio in Chicago in late 2001, and was the band's first album released after their slight name change. Lacking both their characteristic interwoven field recordings and specifically named movements, the album was instead described by the band as "just raw, angry, dissonant, epic instrumental rock". Shortly after its release, the group announced an indefinite hiatus so band members could pursue differing musical interests; it was their last album for a decade until the release of 2012's 'Allelujah! Don't Bend! Ascend!.
The Who Hits 50! is a compilation of singles by the English rock band The Who, released in 2014 by Polydor Records. The two-disc set contains every single released by the band in the United Kingdom, with the exceptions of: "A Legal Matter" and "La-La-La-Lies" from 1966; and "Long Live Rock" and the remake of "I'm One" from 1979. At the same time it also contains every single by the band released in the United States throughout their career, with the exceptions of: "The Real Me" from 1974; the reissue of "Substitute" from 1976; and "Long Live Rock" from 1979. A condensed single-disc standard edition appeared as well, both versions in conjunction with the band's 50th anniversary and associated tour of the same name. The album is notable for containing singles generally not included on other compilation albums, such as the band's Rolling Stones cover "The Last Time" done as an act of solidarity while Mick Jagger and Keith Richards were facing jail time, along with other lesser-known singles "Dogs" and "Call Me Lightning".
