Rawdon Christie is a former English-New Zealand journalist turned media relations expert and real-estate sales person. [1]

Life

Christie was born in London. He attended Marlborough College, and then the University of Edinburgh, where he received a Bachelor of Music degree.

After a spell as a teacher of performing arts and sports coach at King's School in New Zealand, Christie attended the London College of Printing to undertake a postgraduate course in broadcast journalism. While there he won the 'Young Broadcast Journalist of the Year' award in 2000 (Broadcast Journalism Training Council). He started his journalism career with the BBC in Cambridge, firstly with BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, then with BBC Look East. [1]

In 2003 Christie took up a position as a reporter with Television New Zealand's ONE News . In 2005 he moved to TVNZ's daily current affairs programme, Close Up . He has had stints as presenter of Midday, Tonight, Sunday , the New Zealand version of Dragons' Den and Agenda . In July 2007 Rawdon returned to ONE News and later became TVNZ's first producer / presenter when he took over ONE News at 4:30 in 2009. Christie often presented One News at 6 over the Christmas period, and from 2011-2012 presented the news bulletins on Breakfast two days a week. [2]

In September 2011 Christie became co-host (with Toni Street) of Television New Zealand's new Saturday Breakfast show. In May 2012, Christie was promoted as weekday co-host of Breakfast, replacing Corin Dann; he held this job until 2016, when he was dismissed from TVNZ due to major changes being made to the breakfast programme. Christie has since left the television industry to run his own media communications company. In 2020, he obtained his real estate licence to become a real estate salesperson for his local Barfoot & Thompson.

Christie lives in Auckland with his wife and three children.

His cousin is the movie star Julie Christie. [4]

Paul Henry (broadcaster) New Zealand politician

Paul Henry Hopes, known professionally as Paul Henry, is a New Zealand radio and television broadcaster who was the host of the late night show The Paul Henry Show on New Zealand's TV3 which ended December 2014 so that Henry could host a new cross platform three-hour breakfast show Monday to Friday on TV3, RadioLive and on line. Paul Henry launched on 7 April 2015 and initially had an audience larger than the two shows it replaced on radio and TV. For nine months in 2012, he also co-hosted an Australian television show, Breakfast, which ceased production on 30 November 2012, due to low ratings.

Susan Wood is a New Zealand television presenter who hosted TV ONE's nightly news and current affairs show Close Up.

TVNZ 7

TVNZ 7 was a commercial-free New Zealand 24-hour news and information channel on Freeview digital television platform and on Sky Television from 1 July 2009. It was produced by Television New Zealand, which received Government funding to launch two additional channels. The channel went to air just after 10 am on 25 March 2008 with a looped preview reel. The channel was officially launched at noon on 30 March 2008 with a special "kingmaker" political debate held within the Parliament building and featuring most of the elected minor party leaders. The channel went off air at midnight on 30 June 2012 to the Goodnight Kiwi.

Tony Colin Veitch is a New Zealand former reporter and sports broadcaster. He hosted a Radio Sport breakfast show and Television New Zealand's ONE News 6pm sports news. Veitch resigned from all broadcasting roles in the wake of domestic violence revelations in 2008 and a conviction in 2009, but later regained significant roles at Newstalk ZB and Radio Sport, until late 2017.

Agenda is a New Zealand hour-long current affairs television programme. It screened at 10 am on Sundays on TV ONE. Its final host was Rawdon Christie with political interviews conducted by Guyon Espiner. Christie and Espiner were joined each week by three panelists from the New Zealand media.

Breakfast is a New Zealand morning news and talk show airing weekday mornings on TVNZ 1, produced by 1 News. Debuting on 11 August 1997, it was the first of its genre in New Zealand. It contains a mixture of breaking news, news, sport, weather and feature items. Originally a two-hour programme, it was expanded to three hours in 2012.
