Ray C. Jones was an American politician who served in the Oklahoma Senate from 1934 to 1946 and on the Oklahoma Corporation Commission from 1946 to 1976.
Jones was elected to the Oklahoma Senate as a member of the Democratic Party in 1934 to represent the 11th district,succeeding George H. Jennings. He served in the state senate until 1946. [1] He was elected to the Oklahoma Corporation Commission in 1946 and reelected until he resigned in 1976. [2] He was part of the longest serving commission panel alongside Wilburn Cartwright and Harold Freeman between 1955 and 1968. [3] He married Sarah Sallie Louise,a Chickasaw Nation citizen. [4]

Penny Baldwin Williams was an American Democratic Party politician from Oklahoma. Williams served as a legislator in the Oklahoma House of Representatives from 1981 to 1988,representing District 70. She later was elected to the Oklahoma Senate,representing District 33,from 1989 to 2004. Senator Williams authored important bills on education during her time in the legislature,including the historic education reform act. Williams also authored a series of bills to strengthen math and science,and the bill creating the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics. A supporter of the arts,Williams influenced art education in public schools,and was instrumental in the creation of the Art in Public Places Act.
The 2018 general election was held in the U.S. state of Oklahoma on November 6,2018. All of Oklahoma's executive officers were up for election as well as the state's five seats in the United States House of Representatives,half of the 48 seats in the Oklahoma Senate and all 101 seats in the Oklahoma House,and five offices in each of Oklahoma's 77 counties. Voter turnout was 42.5% of the eligible population,a 12.6% increase over the 2014 midterms but still the third lowest in the nation.
