William Raymond Williams (born 30 December 1930) is an English former professional footballer who played for Tranmere Rovers. [2] [3]
Tranmere Rovers Football Club is a professional association football club based in Birkenhead, Merseyside, England. The team compete in EFL League Two, the fourth tier of the English football league system. Founded in 1884 as Belmont Football Club, they adopted their current name in 1885. Tranmere's regular kit is an all-white strip with blue, or occasionally blue and green trim, their main colours since 1962. The club moved to its current home, Prenton Park, in 1912. In 1995, the ground had a major redevelopment in response to the Taylor Report. It now seats 16,567 in four stands: the Main Stand, the Kop, the Johnny King Stand and the Cowshed.

Keith Williams is a footballer who played as inside forward for Everton, Tranmere Rovers, Plymouth Argyle and Bristol Rovers. Williams joined Everton from school, but transferred to Tranmere in May 1957, joining his brother Ray there. He scored 88 goals in 161 Football League appearances during his four seasons at Tranmere, but conflict with manager Walter Galbraith led to his being transfer-listed. Williams moved to Plymouth at the end of the 1960–61 season, then to Bristol Rovers soon after. He was then banned due to a bribery scandal. In 1962, Keith moved with Ray to South Africa to set up business there.

The results on the final day of the 2013–14 season meant Tranmere were relegated from League One and were to spend this season in League Two for the first time since promotion from it in 1988–89.
