Raziah Ahmed is a former Senator of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. [1]
Former President of the Senate of Trinidad and Tobago - 2015,she was the second woman in the history of Trinidad and Tobago to act as President of her country. She was the second muslim to held the position of the President of the Senate. [2] She is a former Minister of State in the Ministry of Gender Youth and Child Development. She is the author of a continuing series of Children's books:the Nobel,Gifted Prophet series,published in the USA. Currently she is a Part Time Lecturer at a popular Business School. Senator Ahmed is a Motivational Speaker and Financial Planning Consultant (RFC until 2008). She received her MBA from the University of the West Indies, [3] Institute of Business. [4] She was a Columnist with the Sunday Guardian [5] of Trinidad and Tobago and with the Sunday Newsday. Her columns Money Matters,and Wallet Watch dealt with financial advice.
Senator Ahmed was the President of TTAIFA [6] (Trinidad and Tobago Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors),was a Board Member of CARAIFA,where she served as Chairman of the CARAIFA FOUNDATION. [7] (Caribbean Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors),has 12 years consecutive membership of MDRT [8] (Million Dollar Round Table),with 8 Court of the Table memberships and 1 Top of the Table. She was the first female Agency Manager at Colonial Life Insurance Company Ltd.
Raziah Ahmed née Baksh attended Iere High School,and was Valedictorian 1975 and awarded the Iere Gold Medal for Most Outstanding All Round Student. She studied at Mona Jamaica,under a scholarship from Trinidad Tesoro Petroleum Co. the forerunner company to Petrotrin.

Wendell Adrian Mottley ORTT is a Trinidad and Tobago economist,politician and athlete. Mottley served as Senator and member of the House of Representatives with the Trinidad and Tobago Parliament and was Minister of Finance from 1991 to 1995. He was an Ivy League sprinter,winning two Olympic medals in 1964.
Kamla Persad-Bissessar;born Kamla Susheila Persad,22 April 1952),often referred to by her initials KPB,is a Trinidadian and Tobagonian lawyer,politician and educator who is the Leader of the Opposition of Trinidad and Tobago,political leader of the United National Congress (UNC) political party,and was the prime minister of Trinidad and Tobago from 26 May 2010 until 9 September 2015. She was the country's first female prime minister,attorney general,and Leader of the Opposition,the first woman to chair the Commonwealth of Nations and the first woman of Indian origin to be a prime minister of a country outside of India and the wider subcontinent.

Dana Saroop Seetahal SC was an Independent Senator in the Trinidad and Tobago Senate. She was an attorney at law in private practice and was formerly a lecturer at the Hugh Wooding Law School,Trinidad and Tobago,where she held the position of Course Director in Criminal Practice and Procedure. She was assassinated in Port of Spain on May 4,2014.
Keith Christopher Rowley,is a Trinidadian politician serving as the seventh prime minister of Trinidad and Tobago,first elected into office on 9 September 2015 and again following the 2020 general election. He has led the People's National Movement (PNM) since May 2010 and was Leader of the Opposition from 2010 to 2015. He has also served as the Member of the House of Representatives for Diego Martin West since 1991. He is a volcanologist by profession,holding a doctorate in geology,specializing in geochemistry.

She was formerly an editor and Senior Manager in Radio and News and Current Affairs programmes with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) in London,one of the BBC's few top executives from an ethnic minority background. She is the founder and inaugural director of the NGC Bocas Lit Fest,held annually in Trinidad and Tobago since 2011,"the biggest literary festival in the Anglophone Caribbean",and of the OCM Bocas Prize for Caribbean Literature. She was also co-founder of the Hollick Arvon Caribbean Writers Prize.

In 2002 she received the Seventh CARICOM Triennial Award for Women,was Trinidad and Tobago's nominee for the International Women of Courage Award in 2008,and was honoured in her country's National Honour Awards ceremony in 2012 with the Gold Medal for the Development of Women.

Christine Carla Kangaloo is a Trinidadian politician,who is the president of Trinidad and Tobago since 2023. She was president of the Senate of Trinidad and Tobago from 2015 until her resignation to run for president in 2023. She is the only person to serve as both President and Vice President of the Senate of Trinidad and Tobago,the first woman to serve as Senate Vice President and third woman to serve as acting President of Trinidad and Tobago and Senate President. She became the second woman to serve as President of Trinidad and Tobago upon her assumption of office on 20 March 2023. Kangaloo has served as an Opposition Senator,Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister,Minister of Legal Affairs and Minister of Science,Technology and Tertiary Education in previous People's National Movement governments.
Jo-Anne Nina Sewlal was a Trinidad and Tobago arachnologist. She discovered several new species of spiders in Trinidad and Tobago,and published some of the first surveys of spider populations in many countries of the Caribbean.
