The Reading Classic was an annual bicycle road racing event held in Reading, Pennsylvania from 2006 to 2008. In its inaugural year, the 2006 Reading Classic was part of the Commerce Bank Triple Crown of Cycling on the United States' Pro Cycling Tour (PCT), and served as a replacement of the Trenton Classic. The men's elite event is ranked 1.1 by the International Cycling Union (UCI), the sport's governing body, and is part of the UCI America Tour.

Amber Leone Neben is an American racing cyclist, who most recently rode for UCI Women's Continental Team Cogeas–Mettler–Look. Neben won the UCI world time trial championship in 2008 and 2016 as well as the U.S. national road race championship in 2003 and 2017.
Bernhard Eisel is an Austrian former professional road bicycle racer, who rode professionally between 2001 and 2019 for the Mapei–Quick-Step, Française des Jeux, HTC–Highroad, Team Sky and Team Dimension Data teams. Following his retirement, he worked as an analyst and presenter for Eurosport and the Global Cycling Network (GCN), before joining Bora–Hansgrohe as a directeur sportif in 2022.
Navigators Insurance Cycling Team was an elite road bicycle racing cycling team in the United States. Navigators focused on USA Cycling and UCI America Tour events. The team has competed in every Tour de Georgia. The team was founded in 1992 by Raymond Cipollini and James Eichvalds. The team turned Pro in 1994 and hired Edward Beamon to be its director.
Shawn Milne is a professional road bicycle racer from Gloucester, Massachusetts, United States. In 2009, he rode in events on the USA Cycling National Racing Calendar and UCI Continental Circuits for Team Type 1. On May 31, 2009, he won the Air Force Cycling Classic. He was selected to represent the United States at the 2002 and 2003 Under 23 World Road Race Championships.
Ciarán Power is an Irish former professional racing cyclist, the first Irish cyclist to ride in a major tour since Stephen Roche in 1993. Power turned professional in 2000 with the Linda McCartney Racing Team and rode the 2000 Giro d'Italia, gaining 2 top ten stage finishes. When the McCartney team folded in 2001, Power joined the French Saint-Quentin–Oktos team before moving to the US the following season and joining Navigators.

Velocio–SRAM Pro Cycling, formerly known as Specialized–lululemon, was a professional cycling team based in the United States that competes in elite road bicycle racing and track cycling events. The final-season title sponsors were SRAM Corporation and Cervelo bicycles. Velocio Sports was the holding company for the team and the place-holder during a larger search for a title sponsor.
Ina-Yoko Teutenberg is a German former road bicycle racer, who competed professionally between 2000 and 2013 for the Red Bull Frankfurt, Saturn Cycling Team and Specialized–lululemon teams. She took over 200 wins during her career, including 11 stages of the Giro Rosa, the 2009 Tour of Flanders, and being part of the Team Specialized–lululemon team that won the World Team Time Trial Championship in 2012. She now works as a directeur sportif for UCI Women's Team Lidl–Trek.
Laura Van Gilder is an American road bicycle racer from Cresco, Pennsylvania, who currently rides for American amateur team Mellow Mushroom Racing. Van Gilder turned professional in 1992, and represented her nation at the 2002 and 2005 UCI Road World Championships.

The 2007 Tour of Missouri is the inaugural edition of a professional road bicycle racing stage race held in Missouri that made its debut on September 11, 2007, with six days of racing. Run by same organizers as the Tour de Georgia and the Amgen Tour of California, the Tour of Missouri is being billed as the third highest profile domestic race in the United States. The Tour is part of the 2006–07 UCI America Tour and the inaugural 2007 USA Cycling Professional Tour.
Rock Racing was a cycling team founded in 2007 by Michael Ball. The team is affiliated with Ball's Rock & Republic clothing line. Rock Racing received media attention for hiring outcasts in the sport, including those tainted by performance-enhancing drug scandals. The team's "bad boy image" was furthered by the design of the team kits, and its motto was "Here to stay" which may have served to incite the anti-doping efforts of the time.
Jeff Louder is an American former professional road racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2000 and 2014 for the Landbouwkrediet–Colnago, Navigators Insurance, BMC Racing Team and UnitedHealthcare teams. Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, Louder won the 2008 Tour of Utah, and took part in the 2010 Giro d'Italia. At the 2014 Tour of Utah Louder announced that he would be retiring from the sport at the end of the season.

The 2012 season was the tenth for the Specialized–lululemon cycling team, which began as the T-Mobile team in 2003. After the men's team HTC–Highroad stopped, Kristy Scrymgeour convinced manufacturer Specialized and sports apparel company Lululemon Athletica to perpetuate the women's team in this Olympic year. The team changed slightly: Clara Hughes and Trixi Worrack were the main new recruits, while Judith Arndt, team leader since 2006, joined GreenEdge–AIS. The team had a great year. Ina-Yoko Teutenberg won numerous sprints and finished fourth in the road race of the Olympic Games. Evelyn Stevens had an excellent season by winning at the world cup race La Flèche Wallonne Féminine, she won a prestigious stage of the Giro d'Italia Femminile and finished on the podium in the end and she won the general classification of the La Route de France. At the end of the season she was in fourth place in the UCI World Ranking. Ellen van Dijk won the general classification of the Lotto–Decca Tour, the Omloop van Borsele and several stage races. The team dominated especially in the team time trials. Ellen van Dijk together with Stevens, Hughes, Amber Neben and Trixi Worrack or Teutenberg were consistent and undefeated the whole year. At the end of the season the team won the first team time trial at the world championship which was a main goal for the team this year. The team finished second in the UCI World Ranking.
The 2014 women's road cycling season was the twelfth for the Specialized–lululemon cycling team, which began as the T-Mobile team in 2003. After being part of the team since 2005, Ina-Yoko Teutenberg left the team for her retirement. Also Ellen van Dijk, the top ranked UCI and best rider of the 2013 season left the team, together with Gillian Carleton and Katie Colclough. Chantal Blaak, Karol-Ann Canuel, Élise Delzenne and Tiffany Cromwell joined the team with the last becoming the leader of the team.
The 2011 season was the tenth for the HTC–Highroad Women cycling team, which began as the T-Mobile team in 2003. The main new riders for the team were the Americans Amber Neben and Amanda Miller and the German time trial champion Charlotte Becker. In January, Carla Swart died whilst training after being hit by a truck. After winning a stage, Ellen van Dijk won the Ladies Tour of Qatar which was the 400th victory for the team since 2008. Ina Teutenberg won the fifth round in the Women's World Cup and the team won the seventh round, the Open de Suède Vårgårda team time trial. The team finished second overall in the World Cup. Judith Arndt finished fourth in the individual standings and Teutenberg fifth. At the end of the season Arndt took the third place in the UCI World Ranking, Teutenberg fourth and the team ended in second place in the team classification.
