The Reason washing machine is an eco friendly design of the washing machine, with an emphasis on ease of use, invented by the architect Andrew Reason.

Launch

The Reason Washing Machine Kickstarter page claims an increased load capacity of 12 kg as opposed to 10 kg in its previous launch in 2009. Other changes claimed include powered opening and closing of the sliding drum.[ citation needed ] The product was originally launched in January 2009, [1] with the slogan "The best washing machine ever made?", [2] and by March 2009 they employed 11 people. [3] The first 200 machines were auctioned on the internet, and the company aimed to build 100,000 more by the end of 2010. [3] A production line was created to meet demand, which the company anticipated would require 150 people. The company is located in Pembrokeshire, Wales. [3]

That Roundhouse is a roundhouse sited in woods within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park near the town of Newport in Wales. It was constructed without planning permission during the winter of 1997/1998 by Tony Wrench and Jane Faith and helpers as part of the then secret Brithdir Mawr intentional community. The structure was discovered in 1998, challenged by the authorities, and threatened with demolition; it was granted retrospective planning permission in September 2008, with a review in three years. The “radical experiment” has attracted considerable media attention in relation to issues surrounding green building, affordable housing, low-carbon building, low-impact development and sustainable living.
