Rebecca Sultana is a Bangladeshi former government official who is the 9th and current First Lady of Bangladesh as the wife of President Mohammed Shahabuddin. She is serving as the First Lady of Bangladesh since 24 April 2023. [1] [2]

Career

Rebecca Sultana joined BCS administration cadre as Assistant Commissioner and retired in 2009 as Joint Secretary. She is currently a professor in the Department of Human Resources Program at Primeasia University and also Chief Advisor of Primeasia University and is serving as the Founder Chairman of Friends for Children Organization. [3] [4]

Personal life

On 16 November 1972, Rebecca Sultana married Mohammed Shahabuddin. [5] They have a son named Arshad Adnan, who produced several Bangladeshi films, including the highest grossing Bangladeshi film Priyotoma (2023). [3]

Syed Taher Ahmed was a professor of geology and mining at the University of Rajshahi in Bangladesh who was missing on 1 February 2006 and was found dead two days later. Ahmed, aged 58, was a senior member of the planning committee that evaluates application of teachers for promotion. In 2005, his junior colleague and once a close friend, Mia Mohammad Mohiuddin, applied for promotion to full professor. Ahmed discovered inconsistencies in the application; Mohiuddin had not served the required 12-year-academic service, and more critically, had plagiarised and pirated ten of the eleven research papers he submitted. Mohiuddin's fate was to be decided by the planning committee on 2 February 2006. With his career was at stake, Mohiuddin hired Jahangir Alam, caretaker of the university's quarters. Alam, assisted by his brother Abdus Salam and brother-in-law Nazmul, killed Ahmed in the night of 1 February 2006.

Mujib Bhai is a 2023 Bangladeshi animated feature film, based on the life of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father and first President of Bangladesh. The film was produced by the Information and Communication Technology Division and jointly directed by Shohel Mohammad Rana and Chandan K. Barman. The film is based on The Unfinished Memoirs, the autobiography of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The animation film showed the events of a certain period in the life of Bangladesh's founding president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from 1948 to 1969.

Mohammed Arshad Adnan Rony known as Arshad Adnan, is a Bangladeshi actor and film producer. He is the son and only child of the president of Bangladesh Mohammed Shahabuddin and his wife Rebecca Sultana. He is the owner of Versatile Media.
