Red Express, sub titled The Trans-Siberian Railroad, is a 1991 TV documentary following the Trans Siberian railway. It was part of ABC's World of Discovery series. It was written and produced by Hugh Piper and narrated by Ron Perlman. [1] [2]

A soundtrack album, composed and performed by Jan Castor, was nominated for the 1992 ARIA Award for Best Original Soundtrack, Cast or Show Album.

TSO has sold more than 10 million concert tickets and over 10 million albums. The band has released a series of rock operas: Christmas Eve and Other Stories, The Christmas Attic, Beethoven's Last Night, The Lost Christmas Eve, their two-disc Night Castle and Letters From the Labyrinth. Trans-Siberian Orchestra is also known for their extensive charity work and elaborate concerts, which include a string section, a light show, lasers, "enough pyro to be seen from the International Space Station", moving trusses, video screens, and effects synchronized to music.

Savatage American heavy metal band

Savatage is an American heavy metal band founded by brothers Jon and Criss Oliva in 1979 at Astro Skate in Tarpon Springs, Florida. The band was first called Avatar, but, shortly before the release of their debut album Sirens (1983), they changed their name to Savatage as Avatar was already taken by another band. Savatage is considered a significant member of the American heavy metal movement of the early-to-mid 1980s, and has been cited as a key influence on many genres such as power metal, progressive metal, speed metal, thrash metal, death metal and symphonic metal.

Christmas Eve and Other Stories is the debut studio album by the American rock band Trans-Siberian Orchestra. It was released on October 15, 1996 through Lava Records and Atlantic Records. It is the first album in their "Christmas trilogy", with The Christmas Attic (1998) and The Lost Christmas Eve (2004) coming afterward. All three albums, as well as their The Ghosts of Christmas Eve DVD, were featured in the box set of The Christmas Trilogy. The album's cover art was created by Edgar Jerins.

Jeff Scott Soto is an American rock singer of Puerto Rican descent. He is best known for being the vocalist on Yngwie Malmsteen's first two albums, and (briefly) the lead vocalist for Journey in 2006-2007. He also had a long tenure as the frontman of hard rock band Talisman. Currently he works as solo artist, with his self-named band SOTO and as the vocalist of supergroups W.E.T., Sons of Apollo and Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

Joel Hoekstra is an American guitarist currently in the band Whitesnake and also tours with Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Cher. The son of classical musicians, he started out playing cello and piano at a young age, but it was hearing Angus Young of AC/DC that inspired him to start playing the guitar. He was raised in the suburbs of Chicago, in Orland Park, but has lived in New York City since 2001.

<i>Letters from the Labyrinth</i> 2015 studio album by Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Letters From the Labyrinth is the sixth album by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. It was released on November 13, 2015. Unlike TSO's previous five albums, Letters from the Labyrinth is not a rock opera, but rather a collection of songs on various subjects including bullying, banking, and the Berlin Wall. The album reached #7 on the Billboard 200 album chart and #1 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart. This album was the last for TSO members Paul O'Neill and David Z before their deaths in April and July 2017, respectively.
