The Reformed Church of Nepal (RCN) is a denomination Reformed Baptists in Nepal. It was founded in 2017 by Ram Nepal, a native Nepali who had converted to Christianity. [3] [4] [5]

History

In the 1970s, Ram Nepal, a Nepali from a Hindu family, converted to Christianity. In 1980, Ram became a pastor and began to plant churches in the country, managing to plant about 300 churches. In 2017, they organized themselves as the Reformed Church of Nepal. [3]

From religious persecution, the founding pastor of the denomination was arrested several times in Nepal, until he moved to the United States. [3]

The denomination grew rapidly. In 2015, there were 800 churches. [2]

Doctrine

The denomination adheres to the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith as its subordinate standard. [6]

Interchurch relations

The RCN is a member of the Evangelical Christian Alliance of Nepal [1] and was previously a member of the World Reformed Fellowship. [4] [7]

The Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) is the second-largest Presbyterian church body, behind the Presbyterian Church (USA), and the largest conservative Calvinist denomination in the United States. Christianity in Nepal

Christianity is, according to the 2011 census, the fifth most practiced religion in Nepal, with 375,699 adherents, or 1.4% of the population. Many informed observers have estimated that there are at least 1 million Nepali Christians. According to some Christian groups, there may be as many as 3 million Christians in Nepal, constituting up to 10% of the country's population. A report by Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary identified the Nepali church the fastest growing in the world. The vast majority of Nepali Christians are evangelical Protestants ; there is also a small Catholic population of roughly 10,000.

Christians in Nigeria comprise an estimated 49.3% of the population. Christians are dominant in the southern (south-east/south-south/South west and central region in Nigeria. According to the Pew Research Center, Nigeria has the largest Christian population of any country in Africa, with more than 80 million persons in Nigeria belonging to the church with various denominations. The majority of Christians in Nigeria are Protestant.

Evangelical Baptist Convention is a Baptist Christian denomination in Manipur, India. Their main area of presence is in the southern part of Manipur. It currently has a total of 151 churches and is one of the biggest churches among the tribal groups in the northeastern part of India. Its headquarters, Dorcas Hall, is located at Hebron Veng, New Lamka.

The Africa Evangelical Presbyterian Church (AEPC) is a growing conservative Presbyterian and Reformed Church which adheres to the Westminster Confession of Faith started in Kenya, later spread to the surrounding countries like Burundi, Tanzania, Congo and as far as Zimbabwe. The Baptist Convention of Zimbabwe is a Baptist Christian denomination in Zimbabwe. It is affiliated with the Baptist World Alliance and the Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe. The headquarters is in Gweru.

Presbyterian Church in India (Reformed) is a presbyterian denomination, established in Manipur in 1984, formed by a group of churches that broke away from the Evangelical Convention Church.

The Nepali Reformed Churches (NRC) form a Continental Reformed denomination in Nepal. It was founded in 2005 by Rev. Arbin Pokharel, a native Nepalese convert to Christianity who returned to the country as a missionary. In 2020, the denomination already consisted of 32 churches.

The Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Nepal is a Reformed Presbyterian denomination in Nepal, formed in 1999 by Korean Presbyterian missionary Dr. Yakub Yeonjeong Kim.

The Aashish Free Presbyterian Church of Nepal (AFPCN), also known simply as Aashish Presbyterian Church (APC) is a Reformed Presbyterian denomination in Nepal. It was formed in 1989 by missionaries from the Free Presbyterian Church of Kalimpong.

The Bangladesh Presbyterian Church' (BPC) is a conservative Reformed denomination Evangelical in Bangladesh. It was organized in 2015, in Dhaka, by Rev. Kyung-Yeop Lee, missionary sent to the country by Presbyterian Church in Korea (TongHap).
