Terrace of the Elephants

The Terrace of the Elephants is part of the walled city of Angkor Thom, a ruined temple complex in Cambodia. The terrace was used by Angkor's king Jayavarman VII as a platform from which to view his victorious returning army. It was attached to the palace of Phimeanakas, of which only a few ruins remain. Most of the original structure was made of organic material and has long since disappeared. Most of what remains are the foundation platforms of the complex. The terrace is named for the carvings of elephants on its eastern face.

CKHJ is a Canadian radio station in Fredericton, New Brunswick broadcasting at 1260 AM. The station broadcasts a country format under the Pure Country branding. The station is owned by Bell Media which also owns sister stations CFXY-FM and CIBX-FM. There are two rebroadcasters of CKHJ on FM due to the AM station's weak signal to the south and east of the city: CKHJ-1-FM on 95.1 in New Maryland, and CKHJ-2-FM in 103.5 in Oromocto. All three transmitters can be heard over most of Fredericton, effectively creating a simulcast. CKHJ uses on the air-branding of Pure Country 103.5, referencing the frequency of CKHJ-2-FM, which is a rimshot signal.

Staro Hopovo Monastery

The Staro Hopovo Monastery is a Serb Orthodox monastery on the Fruška Gora mountain in the northern Serbia, in the province of Vojvodina. According to tradition, the monastery was founded by Bishop Maksim. The first reliable mention of the monastery dates back to 1545/1546. It is on the basis of some data from 1751 that an earlier church with timber walls dedicated to St. Nicholas existed. The old church which had collapsed in an earthquake was in 1752 substituted with the extant single-nave building dedicated to St. Panteleimon. The woodcarving of the iconostasis of Staro Hopovo was completed in 1793, and the paintings by Janko Halkozović and Kuzman Kolarić.

Tour Swiss Life


The Tour Swiss Life is a skyscraper of offices located in La Part-Dieu quarter, in the 3rd arrondissement of Lyon. This 82-metre tower was built in 1989 by French architech Charles Delfante. It was the second tallest tower in Lyon before the end of the construction of the Tour Oxygène in 2010, and is now the 4th tallest, with 20 floors. The tower was originally to be about 120 metres, but the City Council was opposed to highrises at the time. It is surrounded by a ditch and has its ground floor at level -1, the entrance is via a gateway. It houses in particular the Swiss Life company. At the MIPIM exhibition in 2009, the Mayor of Lyon, Gérard Collomb confirmed the desire of Swiss Life to raise the tower. The project has since been modified, a new tower has been proposed to be built in place of the current 4-storey-high parking garage of SwissLife tower.
