The Regiment Huzaren Prins Alexander is an Armoured corps of the Royal Netherlands Army, named after Prince Alexander, the second son of King Willem II. This regiment represented the former 3rd Hussars Regiment, formed in 1814 (origins date back to 1672). It was known as the Red (because of the red colour on their uniform) or Guards Hussars, but was never a Guards regiment.

The Regiment Huzaren Prinses Catharina-Amalia, which is a company in the 414th Panzer Battalion, is a cavalry regiment formed in late 2020 through the amalgamation of three other Dutch cavalry regiments that, at the time, existed in suspension - the Regiment Huzaren Prins Alexander, Regiment Huzaren Van Sytzama and Regiment Huzaren Prins van Oranje.
41 Tankbattalion - Activated on June 1, 1953, and based at Hohne Camp, Germany. The unit operated the Leopard 1 from 1971 - 1984. In 1983 (or 1985) the unit received their first Leopard 2A4s which they operated until April 1994. On August 1, 1994, the unit was disbanded,
42nd Tankbattalion - Before 1991 42 Tkbat was part of the Regiment Hussars Prince Alexander. The unit was activated on April 1, 1972, and operated with the Leopard 1 until July 1985. From that moment the Leopard 1s were replaced by the Leopard 2A4. In 1991 the unit became part of the Regiment Hussars Prince of Orange.
52nd Tankbattalion - Activated on May 1, 1987, at the mobilization complex Soesterberg and equipped with the Leopard 1V. In 1992 the Leopard 1V were replaced by the Leopard 2A4 and on February 1, 1994, the unit was disbanded.
57th Tankbattalion - Located at the mobilization complex Wilp and equipped with the Leopard 2A4 from 1986 - July 1, 1992. On July 1, 1992, the unit was disbanded.
58th Tankbattalion - Activated in December 1973 and located at mobilization-complex Wijchen. The unit was equipped with the Leopard 1V from 1986 - 1992. The unit was disbanded on January 1, 1994.
101st Tankbattalion - Activated on October 15, 1957. Before the Leopard it was equipped with the Centurion tank. In November 1984 these Centurions were replaced by the Leopard 1V. From February 1992 - 1998 the unit was equipped with the Leopard 2A4.In 1998 the A4s were replaced by the A5 and from February 2003 the A6 replaced the A5s. The unit was activated at Soesterberg, then moved to Seedorf and then disbanded on December 20, 2005. 101 Tkbat was disbanded and the two companies of the battalion were split up between 11th Tkbat and 42nd tankbat where they became the 3rd company (C Squadron).
Dragoons were originally a class of mounted infantry, who used horses for mobility, but dismounted to fight on foot. From the early 17th century onward, dragoons were increasingly also employed as conventional cavalry and trained for combat with swords and firearms from horseback. While their use goes back to the late 16th century, dragoon regiments were established in most European armies during the 17th and early 18th centuries; they provided greater mobility than regular infantry but were far less expensive than cavalry.
A hussar was a member of a class of light cavalry, originating in Central Europe during the 15th and 16th centuries. The title and distinctive dress of these horsemen were subsequently widely adopted by light cavalry regiments in European armies during the late 17th and 18th centuries. By the 19th century, hussars were wearing jackets decorated with braid plus shako or busby hats and had developed a romanticized image of being dashing and adventurous.

The Regiment Huzaren Prins van Oranje was an armoured regiment of the Royal Netherlands Army, named after Prince Willem, Prince of Orange, eldest son of King Willem II. The regiment served as part of 43 Gemechaniseerde (Mechanized) Brigade operating the Leopard 2 main battle tank.
The Regiment Huzaren van Sytzama was a Dutch armored regiment named for J.G. Baron van Sytzama, which was disbanded in 2012. Its origins may be traced to the French 14th Regiment of Cuirassiers which had in turn been formed from the Dutch 2nd Regiment of Cuirassiers in 1810. From these men, the Baron raised the regiment, later styled 1e Regiment Huzaren.
1st Armoured Regiment is an armoured regiment of the Australian Army and is the senior regiment of the Royal Australian Armoured Corps. Formed as a tank unit in the new Australian Regular Army on 7 July 1949, the regiment subsequently saw service during the Vietnam War operating Centurion tanks. Currently the unit is based in Edinburgh, South Australia as part of the 9th Brigade. As part of the Plan Beersheba reorganisation, the unit has become one of three Armoured Cavalry Regiments (ACRs) assigned to the Army's multirole combat brigades in Brisbane, Darwin and Townsville. Each ACR is equipped with M1A1 tanks and ASLAV light armoured vehicles.
There are 13 cavalry Regiments of the British Army each with its own unique cap badge, regimental traditions, and history. Of the currently nine regular cavalry regiments, two serve as armoured regiments, three as armoured cavalry regiments, three as light cavalry, and one as a mounted ceremonial regiment. There are also four yeomanry regiments of the Army Reserve, of these, three serve as light cavalry and one as an armoured regiment. Each yeomanry light cavalry unit has been paired with a regular unit of the same role, the armoured yeomanry unit is paired with the two regular armoured units. All except the Household Cavalry are part of the British Army's Royal Armoured Corps.
The 2/4th Chasseurs à Cheval Regiment was a cavalry regiment in the Land Component of the Belgian Armed Forces. The regiment was the armoured reconnaissance regiment of the Motorized Brigade.
The Northumberland Hussars was a Yeomanry regiment of the British Army, transferred to the Royal Artillery for the duration of the Second World War. It was disbanded as an independent Territorial Army unit in 1967, a time when the strength of the Territorial Army was greatly reduced. The regiment's name lives on in the title of the command and support squadron of the Queen's Own Yeomanry (QOY), a Formation Reconnaissance Regiment based in Newcastle upon Tyne.
The South Nottinghamshire Hussars is a unit of the British Army formed as volunteer cavalry in 1794. Converted to artillery in 1922, it presently forms part of 103 Regiment, Royal Artillery.
The Royal Buckinghamshire Yeomanry is an Operational Hygiene Squadron of the Royal Logistic Corps, originally formed as cavalry in 1794, and has also served in artillery and signals roles. The lineage is continued by 710 Operational Hygiene Squadron, Royal Logistic Corps.
Armoured reconnaissance is the combination of terrestrial reconnaissance with armoured warfare by soldiers using tanks and wheeled or tracked armoured reconnaissance vehicles. While the mission of reconnaissance is to gather intelligence about the enemy with the use of reconnaissance vehicles, armoured reconnaissance adds the ability to fight for information, and to have an effect on and to shape the enemy through the performance of traditional armoured tasks.
The Cavalry Brigade "Pozzuolo del Friuli" is a brigade of the Italian Army, based in the Friuli Venezia Giulia and Veneto regions. The Brigade consists of a command unit, a cavalry regiment, an amphibious infantry regiment, an artillery regiment, an engineer regiment and a logistic regiment.
The First Division 7 December was a division of the Royal Netherlands Army, active from at least 1946 to 2004. It was sent to Indonesia in 1946 to restore "peace, order and security" after the proclamation of Indonesian Independence in 1945.
The Northern Army Group (NORTHAG) was a NATO military formation comprising five Army Corps from five NATO member nations. During the Cold War NORTHAG was NATO's forward defence in the Northern half of the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG). The Southern half of the Federal Republic of Germany was to be defended by the four Army Corps of NATO's Central Army Group (CENTAG). During wartime NORTHAG would command four frontline corps and one reserve corps. Air support was provided by Second Allied Tactical Air Force.
The Australian Army has used tanks from after the First World War, through the interwar period, the Second World War, the Cold War and to the present day. Throughout this period the Army has primarily been a light infantry force, with its tanks mainly being used in the direct support role. The Australian Army's tanks have seen combat during the Second World War and the Vietnam War, where they proved successful despite some of the designs employed being considered obsolete. The first Australian tanks were a small number of British medium and light tanks which were operated mainly for training purposes during the 1920s and 1930s.
The Swedish Armoured Troops is the armoured branch of the Swedish Army. Since 2005, the Armoured Troops include the South Scanian Regiment in Revingehed, Skaraborg Regiment in Skövde, Norrbotten Armoured Battalion in Boden, and since 2018 also Gotland Regiment.

The 7th Mechanized Brigade ("Dukelská") is an Mechanized infantry brigade of the Czech Army based in Hranice. It is the Czech Army main heavy ground fighting unit for defence of Czech Republic and for EU and NATO alliance forces. It operates T-72M4CZ, T-72M1 and Leopard 2A4 main battle tanks and BVP-2 infantry fighting vehicles. For fire support it uses SPM-85 PRAM-S and M1982 PRAM-L 120mm mortars.
