Lucy's Fur Coat was an American rock band that formed in 1992 in San Diego, California, United States, with rhythm guitarist and chief songwriter Mike Santos on lead vocals. Peter Andre wrote and performed for the film a song titled "Kid", which is played during the British version of the end credits, instead of Grizfolk's "Way Back When". But unlike the latter, the former was not included in the soundtrack.

The fourth instalment and spin-off of the Madagascar film series, features original score composed by Lorne Balfe, in his first solo debut in a DreamWorks Animation film. He previously wrote additional music for the previous two Madagascar films and also co-composed the score of Megamind (2012) with Hans Zimmer. Zimmer and his music company Remote Control Productions produced the original soundtrack.
