Remy van Kesteren (8 March 1989) is a Dutch harpist and artistic director of the Dutch Harp Festival.
Remy van Kesteren was admitted to the Utrechts Conservatorium into a class taught by Erika Waardenburg at the age of ten and he graduated with the highest distinction in 2010. He continued his training at the Conservatoire de Paris, where he was inspired by the famous harpist Isabelle Moretti. [1] In 2012 he obtained his master's degree summa cum laude from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. He took composing lessons from composer Willem Jeths. [2]
Remy van Kesteren has won several prizes. He is the winner of the Elisabeth Everts Prize , the prize for exceptional young talent in the Netherlands. He won first prizes at Dutch harp competitions and the Prinses Christina Concours.
In 2008 he won third place at the International Harp Competition in Moscow and in 2009 third prize at the prestigious The International Harp Contest in Israel. That year he also won the final of the Stichting Jong Muziektalent Nederland competition, which earned him the title 'Young Music Talent 2009'.
In October 2012 he toured the Netherlands as laureate of Dutch Classical Talent, [3] a promotional project by, among others, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and Radio 4, the final of which took place on April 21, 2013 in the Royal Concertgebouw. In 2013 he won the USA International Harp Competition. [4] In 2013 he also won the Grachtenfestival Prize, which is awarded annually to a young musician or ensemble at the start of an international career. In 2016 he won the Dutch Music Prize, the highest award from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science for classical musicians. [5]
At the age of twenty, Remy van Kesteren founded the Dutch Harp Festival (DHF), a festival with concerts focusing on the harp, and the DHF World Harp Competition, an international harp competition open to harpists from all nationalities, ages and genres. [6]
Remy van Kesteren developed the Réus 49 together with Salvi. The Dutch Musical Instruments Foundation supervised the innovative process and purchased the instrument. The new instrument has 49 instead of 47 strings and can be played both acoustically and electrically amplified. It also has a damping mechanism, allowing you to mute all strings with one movement of the knee. The instrument was presented at the Dutch Harp Festival in 2018. [7]

Jörgen van Rijen is Principal Trombone at the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra (RCO) in Amsterdam. He is also a founding member of the Dutch trombone ensemble, New Trombone Collective, and Professor of Trombone at the Amsterdam Conservatory.

Merlijn Twaalfhoven is a Dutch composer. He graduated from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in 2003. Twaalfhoven is internationally active in creating innovative projects and writing new music for orchestras, choirs and chamber music groups. He collaborated with Toneelgroep Amsterdam, Holland Festival, Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest, the Dutch National Ballet and Springdance festival, among many others. With his non profit organization La Vie Sur Terre he frequently produces large scale projects on location with local artists and musicians, for example in Cyprus, Japan, Jordan, the Palestinian Territories, Syria, and Central Europe. Twaalfhoven is a member of the Alpbach Laxenburg Group. He was a speaker about the role of arts in conflict areas at Aspen Institute Washington and Aspen Ideas Festival in Aspen, CO. In 2014 and 2015, Merlijn Twaalfhoven created "Bridging The Divide", a conversation with Tomáš Sedláček and Gloria Benedikt, linking economics and the irrational, positioning artists as agents of change. He was co-founder of Citizen Artist Incubator together with Gloria Benedikt, which was funded by Creative Europe and brought together 30 artists in two editions. The 2016 of Citizen Artist Incubator took place at IIASA. Twaalfhoven was a speaker about the role of arts in conflict areas at Aspen Institute Washington, TEDx Amsterdam, the European Forum on Culture 2013, 2016 and Aspen Ideas Festival in Aspen, Colorado, U.S.A. In 2017 he founded the Turn Club.

Izhar Elias was the first guitarist to win the Dutch Music Prize. He is specialised in new music for guitar, early and chamber music. By using historical methods and original instruments, Elias has been able to recreate a musical language of the Baroque, Classic and Romantic periods. The Prince Bernard Cultural Foundation made it possible for Izhar to own a 1812 unique Guadagnini guitar.
