Abbas Abdi is one of Iran's most influential reformists, journalist, self-taught sociologist and social activist.
Abdolqader Zahedi (1907-2005) was a high-ranking Sunni religious figure and Iranian Kurdish politician. He received a clerical education and was not a war veteran. He was a member of Iran's Assembly of Experts from 1999 to 2005. He died in Saqqez, Iranian Kurdistan on December 19, 2005.
Habibollah Asgaroladi Mosalman was a leading senior Iranian conservative and principlist politician who was the leader of Islamic Coalition Party, a highly influential conservative political party in Iran. He was also a two-time presidential candidate, first in July 1981 and next in 1985. During the presidential elections in 1981, in which he ran for the presidency, an attempt was made to assassinate him outside his home in Iran Street, but this failed and resulted in his bodyguard being killed but Asgaroladi himself escaped largely unhurt.
Mohammad Tavasoli is an Iranian democracy activist and politician. He is the Secretary-General and also the director of the political office of the Freedom Movement party.
Hamid-Reza Haji Babaee is an Iranian politician who was Minister of Education from 2009 to 2013. He is the current member of the Parliament of Iran from Hamedan since 2016, as he previously held the position from the same district from 1996 until 2009 when he was nominated as Minister of Education by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and was confirmed by Parliament. Haji Babaee gained a B.A. in 1988 and M.A. in 1993, both in theology, and obtained Ph.D. in 1998.
