Rhyton is an American experimental psychedelic rock band from Brooklyn, New York.

History

Rhyton was formed as an improvisational outfit by Dave Shuford, Jimy Seitang, and Spencer Herbst; Shuford had been a member of No Neck Blues Band and Seitang had played with Psychic Ills. [1] The group recorded its debut album in a span of only three days, later issuing it as a self-titled effort on the label Thrill Jockey. [1] Drummer Rob Smith, who was also a member of Pigeons, began touring with the band across the US and Europe, and subsequently replaced Herbst when he left. Rhyton began incorporating more Greek and Southern-American song forms with their improvisations, and has since released two further full-lengths on Thrill Jockey as well as two limited-edition LPs on other labels. The name Matmos refers to the seething lake of evil slime beneath the city Sogo in the 1968 film Barbarella.

Boredoms is a rock band from Osaka, Japan formed in 1986. The band's sound is often referred to as noise rock, or sometimes Japanoise, though their more recent records have mostly featured repetitive minimalism, ambient music and tribal drumming.

Trans Am (band) American rock band

Trans Am is a three-piece band from Bethesda, Maryland, that was one of the originators of "post-rock" in the mid-1990s. Their work combines elements of Krautrock, heavy metal, hardcore punk, synthpop, electronic music, and folk music. Since their inception, the group has toured with Tortoise, Pan Sonic, The Fucking Champs, and Tool.

Bedhead was an American, Texas-based indie rock band, active from 1991 to 1998. Members consisted of Matt and Bubba Kadane, Tench Coxe (guitar), Kris Wheat (bass), and Trini Martinez (drums). The band released several EPs and three LPs on Trance Syndicate, touring intermittently. Bedhead's music was generally subdued, with three electric guitars and one electric bass guitar over sung or spoken vocals. Allmusic dubbed the group "the quintessential indie rock band," and Tiny Mix Tapes gave their final album Transaction de Novo a perfect 5/5 score.

This is a discography of Boredoms, a Japanese experimental noise rock band. To date, Boredoms have released seven full-length studio albums, eleven EPs, three singles, two live albums, three videos, a cassette series, and five remix albums, in addition to their members' various side projects.

The Bedtime Record is a defunct record label that began in Chattanooga, TN in 1997 by Jake Cunningham. The label was born from an idea to release 7" compilations with four bands on each record, two from the United States and two from Europe. All releases were limited edition in vinyl format. The label also released several 7" singles and a 10" split. The bands included Golden, The Microphones, Wookieback, Orange Cake Mix, Bob Hund, Le Mans, Spring, Dent, The Ruby Dare and Fegan among others.

Dan Friel is an American electronic musician based in Brooklyn. Friel was a founding member of Parts & Labor and played with the group until its dissolution in 2012. Wrekmeister Harmonies

Wrekmeister Harmonies, led by musician and composer JR Robinson, is an experimental music collective. Named after the Béla Tarr movie Werckmeister Harmonies, it combines elements of drone music, serialism, post-rock, and heavy metal.
