Ricardo Confessori (born January 25, 1969) is a Brazilian drummer and a former member of the Brazilian power metal band Angra. [1]

After leaving the Brazilian thrash metal band Korzus, Confessori was invited for assume the post of drummer of Angra, after the recording of the album Angels Cry .

In 2000, Confessori left Angra with singer Andre Matos and bassist Luis Mariutti to form the band Shaman together with guitarist Hugo Mariutti. [2] Shaman released three albums with this line-up: Ritual (2002); RituAlive (live album, released in CD and DVD in 2003); and Reason , in 2005. After the second album, Confessori and Matos had some creative differences. Confessori owned the Shaman name resulting in the other members leaving the band. In 2009, Confessori returned to Angra, replacing the drummer Aquiles Priester. In 2014 it was announced that he had once again left the band. [3]

In 2016, he was announced as the new drummer for folk metal band Tierramystica. [4] He also served as a guest/live musician for parodic heavy metal band Massacration, under the pseudonym "El Perro Loco", from 2016 to 2022.

Luis and Hugo are members of another band called Shaman, and Luis is a former member of power metal band Angra - as of 2007 they are no longer in Shaman having left the band with singer Andre Matos in order to pursue new projects. Fabio has played in the past with Skyscraper and Firebox, besides his first band with Hugo Mariutti, Wardeath.

Massacration is a fictional American heavy metal band created by Brazilian humorists and musicians Bruno Sutter, Fausto Fanti, Marco Antônio Alves, Adriano Silva and Felipe Torres, all of them part of the comedy troupe Hermes & Renato. It was one of several parodic music groups idealized by the troupe throughout their career; others include, but are not limited to, Coração Melão, ArtesaNation (reggae) and Também Sou Hype. However, Massacration would be the only project to spawn off, releasing actual full-length albums and receiving a detailed fictional backstory.

<i>Live Metal Espancation</i> 2017 live album by Massacration

Live Metal Espancation is a live album by fictional heavy metal band Massacration. Their first release under the Massacration name since the 2009 studio album Good Blood Headbanguers, it was recorded during a gig at entertainment space Tropical Butantã in São Paulo on August 26, 2017 and released through Top Link Music on December 15 in CD format and for streaming, and in DVD through Shinigami Records a week later, on December 22. Produced by Alexandre Russo, who previously worked with Angra, the show counted with guest appearances by former pornographic actors Fabiane Thompson and Kid Bengala, and Hermes & Renato characters Boça and Joselito Sem-Noção. Under the pseudonym "El Perro Loco", Ricardo Confessori of Angra and Shaman served as a guest drummer. The cover art was provided by critically acclaimed graphic designer João Duarte.

Metal Folclore: The Zoeira Never Ends... is the debut album by Detonator e as Musas do Metal, a parodic heavy metal project idealized by Brazilian singer Bruno Sutter under his persona of "Detonator", which he originally conceived for his previous band Massacration. Self-released on July 19, 2014, it is fully sung in Portuguese, unlike Sutter's previous outputs with Massacration, and is also his first concept album/rock opera. Its insert comes with a sticker album and accompanying stickers.
