Richard John Wolfenden (born March 3, 1992) is a British radio broadcaster and sports commentator [1] known for his work with Radio X, BBC Sport, ITV, and Talksport. [2]
Wolfenden attended the University of Chester where he participated in student radio. [3] During his university years, he co-hosted The Student Radio Chart Show on The Cat Radio, [4] which won the Best Chart Show award at the Student Radio Association Awards. [5] [6]
Wolfenden started his career in broadcasting with commentating on Premier League matches for talkSPORT during his university years. [7] He then joined Radio X, where he has hosted Radio X Indie Night since 2020. [2] [8] Later, he began contributing as a reporter to ITV's EFL Highlights and BBC’s Final Score. [9] [10]
In March 2023, he joined other BBC employees in a temporary broadcast boycott in support of Gary Lineker.
In 2024, he participated in the London marathon to raise funds for Global's Make Some Noise, [11] [12] a charity affiliated with Radio X. [13]
