Richard A. Berthelsen (born September 14, 1944, in Racine, Wisconsin) is a former interim executive director of the NFL Players Association. Berthelsen assumed the role after the death of Gene Upshaw on August 21, 2008, and left the office on March 16, 2009, when DeMaurice Smith was named as Upshaw's successor. Before becoming interim executive director, Berthelsen had worked for the NFL Players Association since 1972 as a legal counsel and principal assistant.

Bryant Charles Gumbel is an American television journalist and sportscaster, best known for his 15 years as co-host of NBC's Today. He is the younger brother of sportscaster Greg Gumbel. From 1995 to 2023, he hosted HBO's acclaimed investigative series Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel, which has been rated as "flat out TV's best sports program" by the Los Angeles Times. It won a Peabody Award in 2012.
The National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) is the labor union representing National Football League (NFL) players. Troy Darnell Vincent Sr. is an American sports executive and former professional football player. He played as a cornerback for the Miami Dolphins, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Buffalo Bills and the Washington Redskins of the National Football League (NFL). He was selected by the Dolphins as the seventh overall pick in the 1992 NFL draft. He played college football for the Wisconsin Badgers and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2023. On September 28, 2011, Vincent was named as one of the preliminary nominees for the Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2012 in his first year of eligibility and each year since.
Joseph Michael DeLamielleure is an American former professional football player who was a guard in the National Football League (NFL). He was an All-American playing college football for the Michigan State Spartans. He was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the first round of the 1973 NFL draft. He won All-Rookie Honors, after finding out a physical condition with his irregular heartbeat was not serious. In 1973 the Buffalo Bills rushing offense led the NFL in yards, yards per carry, as well as rushing touchdowns. He is also one of the first living NFL players to be tested and diagnosed with CTE.
Eugene Thurman Upshaw Jr. was an American professional football guard who played for the Oakland Raiders of the American Football League (AFL) and later the National Football League (NFL). He later served as the executive director of the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA). Upshaw was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1987 and is also the only player in NFL history to reach the Super Bowl with the same team in three different decades.
Ronald Wolf is an American former professional football executive who was a general manager (GM) of the National Football League (NFL)'s Green Bay Packers. Wolf is widely credited with bringing success to a Packers franchise that had rarely won during the two decades prior to Wolf joining the organization. He also played a significant role in personnel operations with the Oakland and Los Angeles Raiders from 1963 to 1975 and again from 1978 to 1990. He joined Green Bay's front office in November 1991 from a personnel director's job with the New York Jets. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in August 2015.

Marvin Dwight Harvey is an American former professional football player who was a tight end in the National Football League (NFL). Harvey was selected in the third round by the Kansas City Chiefs out of the University of Southern Mississippi in the 1981 NFL draft. He retired after a neck injury, but later returned to the NFL and played for Tampa Bay for a short period before joining the USFL from 1983 to 1985. He married Benita "Bonnie" Marshall in 1981. The following year she founded the NFL Player's Wives Association with the support of Al Davis and Ed. DeBartolo Jr. The association was run out the NFLPA office in San Francisco, which was headed by Eugene Upshaw. Harvey and Marshall divorced in 1985 and remain friends.

He played college football at Miami Ohio. He was drafted by the New York Giants in the third round of the 1988 NFL draft and later played for the Detroit Lions and Cincinnati Bengals before retiring after the 1993 season.
Marvin Allen Upshaw was an American professional football player who was a defensive lineman in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Trinity Tigers. Upshaw played nine seasons in the NFL for the Cleveland Browns (1968–1969), the Kansas City Chiefs (1970–1975) and the St. Louis Cardinals (1976). His older brother Gene also played in the NFL.
