Theodore Fulton Stevens Sr. was an American politician and lawyer who served as a U.S. Senator from Alaska from 1968 to 2009. He was the longest-serving Republican Senator in history at the time he left office,though his record was later surpassed in January 2017 by Utah Senator Orrin Hatch. He was the president pro tempore of the United States Senate in the 108th and 109th Congresses from January 3,2003,to January 3,2007,and was the third U.S. Senator to hold the title of president pro tempore emeritus. He was previously Solicitor of the Department of the Interior from September 1960 to January 1961.
Walter Joseph Hickel was an American businessman,real estate developer,and politician who served as the second governor of Alaska from 1966 to 1969 and 1990 to 1994 and as U.S. Secretary of the Interior from 1969 to 1970. He worked as a construction worker and eventually became a construction company owner/operator during Alaska's territorial days. Following World War II,Hickel became heavily involved with real estate development,building residential subdivisions,shopping centers and hotels. Hickel entered politics in the 1950s during Alaska's battle for statehood and remained politically active for the rest of his life.

Dana Anderson Fabe is an American lawyer,retired judge,and mediator. She served as a justice of the Alaska Supreme Court from 1996 to 2016,including three terms as the court's chief justice. She previously served as an Alaska trial court judge for nearly eight years,from 1988 to 1996. Fabe was the first woman appointed to the Alaska Supreme Court,as well as its first female chief justice.
Eric Chancy Croft is an American attorney and politician who represented Anchorage's West district on the Anchorage Assembly from 2016 to 2019. From 1997 to 2006,Croft served as a member of the Alaska House of Representatives for District 15,representing Spenard,Anchorage. He was also a candidate in the 2006 Alaska gubernatorial election. He received 23.1% of the vote,losing to 68.6% achieved by former governor Tony Knowles. Croft served as Anchorage's school board president from 2013 to 2016. Benjamin Aavan Stevens is an American politician and political advisor who served as the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Alaska,Mike Dunleavy. He previously served as the President of the Alaska State Senate as a member of the Republican Party. Stevens is the son of the late United States Senator Ted Stevens,who served as the President pro tempore of the United States Senate from 2003 to 2007,as a Republican U.S. Senator from Alaska from 1968 to 2009;the third-longest-serving Republican in United States Senate history,and as the Solicitor of the Department of the Interior from 1960 to 1961.
The Alaska political corruption probe refers to a 2003 to 2010 widespread investigation by the Public Integrity Section of the U.S. Department of Justice,the Federal Bureau of Investigation,and the Internal Revenue Service into political corruption of nine then-current or former Alaskan state lawmakers,as well as Republican US Representative Don Young and then-US Senator,Republican Ted Stevens. VECO began as a one-truck welding and repair operation that grew to become a major player in the Alaskan and worldwide oil industries' support services business. He built a for-profit prison in Barbados as well. VECO also was a worldwide player in the oil industry,having divisions in many major oil markets,including Sudan,Russia,Mexico,Venezuela,and Syria. VECO had a major impact on the economy of Alaska and employed over 5,000 people worldwide.

"Tom" Anderson is a partner at Optima Public Relations in Anchorage,Alaska and also a radio talk show host of "Tom Anderson Show" (www.TomAndersonShow.com) on KVNT 92.5 FM and 1020 AM in Anchorage and Mat-Su Valley Alaska. Anderson is a former Alaska state representative for District 19 representing northeast Anchorage,Alaska. Anderson,a Republican,served in the Alaska Legislature for two terms,from 2003 until 2007,and became known for his sponsorship of legislation which expanded Alaska's DNA database to assist in forensic identification of criminal suspects through DNA testing.
Byron Ivar Mallott was an American politician,elder,tribal activist and business executive from the state of Alaska. Mallott was an Alaska Native leader of Tlingit heritage and the leader of the Kwaash KéKwaan clan. He was the 12th lieutenant governor of Alaska from December 2014 until his resignation on October 16,2018. He also previously served as the mayor of Yakutat,the mayor of Juneau,the president of the Alaska Federation of Natives and the executive director of the Alaska Permanent Fund.

The November 2022 United States House of Representatives election in Alaska will be held on November 8,2022,to elect a member of the U.S. House of Representatives to represent the state of Alaska. Following voter approval of Ballot Measure 2 during the 2020 elections in Alaska,this will be the second U.S. House election in Alaska held under the new election process,after the special election for the same seat on August 16,2022. All candidates ran in a nonpartisan blanket top-four primary on the same day as the special election,with each voter casting a single vote for their preferred candidate. The four candidates who received the most votes were Mary Peltola,Sarah Palin,Nick Begich III,and Tara Sweeney. Sweeney,however,withdrew from the race,so the fifth-place finisher —Chris Bye —moved on to the general election,in which voters will utilize ranked-choice voting.
