Rick Dickinson (born August 29, 1953) is an American politician.
Dickinson was born in Sabula, Iowa, on August 29, 1953. He earned a degree in history and business administration at William Penn College. He then worked for H.B. Fuller as a national accounts manager, as a manager of the American market for Franklin International, and senior sales representative for Borden Chemical. [1]
Dickinson has served as an adult probation officer within Seventh Judicial District Correctional Services. Politically, he is affiliated with the Democratic Party, and has been treasurer of the Jackson County branch of the Iowa Democratic Party, as well as co-chair of the Jackson County Democratic Central Committee. Prior to serving on the Iowa House of Representatives for District 34 between January 14, 1991, and January 8, 1995, Dickinson was a member of the Jackson County board of supervisors, and mayor and city council member in his hometown of Sabula. The southern terminus of the route is at the United States–Mexico border in Presidio, Texas.

The Savanna–Sabula Bridge was a truss bridge and causeway crossing the Mississippi River that connected the city of Savanna, Illinois, with the island city of Sabula, Iowa. The bridge was put out of service on November 17, 2017, when its replacement, which lies a few dozen feet downstream, opened as the Dale Gardner Veterans Memorial Bridge. The bridge carried U.S. Route 52 over the river. It was also the terminus of both Iowa Highway 64 and Illinois Route 64. The bridge carried an average of 2,170 vehicles daily as of 2015, with 6% of that being truck traffic.
Lester Jesse Dickinson was a Republican United States Representative and Senator from Iowa. He was, in the words of Time magazine, "a big, friendly, white-thatched Iowa lawyer."
