Richard Owen Kingrea (born July 18, 1949) is a former American football linebacker who played eight seasons in the National Football League (NFL) for the Cleveland Browns, Buffalo Bills, and the New Orleans Saints. [1] He played college football at Tulane University. After football, Kingrea became an attorney and served as City Councilman in Fairhope, Alabama. [2] [3]

Scott S. Cowen is president emeritus of Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he was also Seymour S. Goodman Memorial Professor in the A.B. Freeman School of Business and professor of economics in Tulane's School of Liberal Arts. He was interim president of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio from 2020 to 2021, and currently serves as Distinguished Presidential Visiting Professor of Leadership and Management at CWRU. He has written more than a hundred peer-reviewed journal articles and five books. His most recent book, Winnebagos on Wednesdays: How Visionary Leadership Can Transform Higher Education, was published by Princeton University Press in 2018. Cowen is the eponym of Tulane's Cowen Institute and chairs its board of advisors. Cowen served as Tulane's 14th president from July 1998 through June 2014.
The 1970 Liberty Bowl, part of the 1970 bowl game season, took place on December 12, 1970, at Memphis Memorial Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee. The competing teams in the 12th edition of the Liberty Bowl were the Tulane Green Wave, competing as an independent, and the Colorado Buffaloes, representing the Big Eight Conference. Tulane won the game, 17–3. This was the last Liberty Bowl played on a Saturday until the 1978 edition.

The 13th annual Military Bowl featured UCF from the American Athletic Conference and Duke from the Atlantic Coast Conference. The game began at 2:00 p.m. EST and was aired on ESPN. It was one of the 2022–23 bowl games concluding the 2022 FBS football season. Sponsored by technology company Peraton, the game was officially known as the Military Bowl presented by Peraton.
