H. B. I. "Rik" de Lange (born 31 July 1956 in Arnhem) is a Dutch politician. He is a member of the Labour Party, and mayor of the Gelderland municipality Duiven. [1]
Duiven is a municipality and a town in the eastern Netherlands. Duiven's name can be translated into English to mean "pigeons" or "doves". Although the coat of arms and logo of the municipality feature pigeons, the name is etymologically related to "dunes". The flag of the municipality of Duiven was granted and adopted on 25 June 1954.

Peter Post was a Dutch professional cyclist whose career lasted from 1956 to 1972. Post competed in road and track racing. As a rider he is best remembered for Six-day racing, having competed in 155 races and won 65. Because of this success he was known as “De Keizer van de Zesdaagse” or “The Emperor of the Six Days”. In road racing his main achievements were winning the 1964 Paris–Roubaix and becoming national road race champion in 1963. He was on the podium three times at the La Flèche Wallonne but never won. Post’s other nickname was “de Lange” or “Big Man” because he was tall for a cyclist. After retiring from racing he had success as a Directeur sportif. Peter Post died in Amstelveen on 14 January 2011.
Duiven is a railway station located in Duiven, Netherlands. The station was opened on 15 February 1856 and is located on the Oberhausen–Arnhem railway between Arnhem and Elten (Germany). The train services at this station are operated by Arriva and Breng. The station was closed on 4 October 1936, but reopened on 31 May 1980. ICE services pass through this station at high speed.

Esther M. R. de Lange is a Dutch politician who served as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) between 2007 and 2024. A member of the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA), part of the European People's Party (EPP), she was elected as delegation leader in the European Parliament at a party conference on 2 November 2013 in Leeuwarden, a position she assumed the following year. In July 2014 she was elected as Vice President of the EPP Group in the European Parliament and in June 2018 as Vice President of the EPP Party. De Lange stepped down as MEP in February 2024.
Otwin Evert Theodoor (Otwin) van Dijk is a Dutch politician and former civil servant. A member of the Labour Party, his political career started in the municipality council of Duiven. From 2005 to 2012 he served as alderman in Doetinchem. From 20 September 2012 to 6 July 2016 he was a member of the national parliament. Upon his resignation he was replaced by Harm Brouwer. On 8 July he was installed as mayor of the municipality of Oude IJsselstreek, a neighbouring municipality of Doetinchem.

Leendert Arent-Willem de Lange is a Dutch politician. He has been mayor of Wassenaar since 18 July 2019. Previously he was a member of the House of Representatives for the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy, serving from 31 March 2015 to 23 March 2017 and once again from 31 October 2017 to 3 July 2019. De Lange was alderman in Noordwijk between 2006 and 2013 and in Wassenaar between 2013 and 2014 where he also served as deputy mayor.
