Ringim emirate is the emirate council in Jigawa State Nigeria, its headquarter is in the Ringim town. Ringim emirate was created in November 1991 as a result of the creation of Jigawa State on 27 August 1991. The Emir of Ringim is Sayyadi Abubakar Mahmoud Usman since the establishment of the emirate until now. [1] [2] The local governments under the emirate include Ringim, Taura, Garki and Babura. The current District Head of Babura who doubles as the Sarkin Bai of Ringim, Ringim Emirate Council, Alhaji Muhammad Nata’ala Mustapha has been on throne since April 2019 after the death of his brother Alhaji Hadi Mustapha Musa of the Bani Ya Musa clan.

Mohammed Badaru Abubakar is a Nigerian politician who has served as the defence minister of Nigeria since 21 August 2023. He previously served as the governor of Jigawa State from 2015 to 2023.

The 2019 Jigawa State gubernatorial election occurred on March 9, 2019. Incumbent APC Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar won re-election for a second term, defeating Aminu Ibrahim Ringim of the PDP and several minor party candidates.

Sayyadi Abubakar Mahmoud Usman CON is a Fulani from the Sullubawa Clan and the first Emir of Ringim, Jigawa State, Nigeria. He is the eldest surviving member of the Dabo Fulani Dynasty. His father, Mahmoud Usman is the son of the 9th Emir of Kano Usman Abdullahi Maje Karofi. After the death of his father, Sayyadi was appointed as the district head of Ringim with the title of Danmajen Kano. A year later, he was appointed as Tafidan Kano by the 13th Emir of Kano Ado Bayero. Following the excise of Jigawa State from Kano State by Idris Garba in 1991, Ringim emirate was created and Sayyadi was elevated from district head to the first fulani Emir of Ringim from Sullubawa clan

The 2023 Jigawa State gubernatorial election took place on 18th of March 2023, to elect the Governor of Jigawa State, concurrent with elections to the Jigawa State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election—which was postponed from its original 11 March date—was later scheduled to hold three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent APC Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar is term-limited and cannot seek re-election to a third term.

Muhammad Hameem Nuhu Sunusi CFR, is a Nigerian monarch who is the current Emir of Dutse, the capital city of Jigawa State in the Northern Nigeria. He spent his early years in Kano State before relocating to Jigawa in 1995, following his father's ascension to the position of Emir of Dutse.
