Rob Pallin

Rob Pallin (born November 19, 1966, in Chisholm, Minnesota) is a professional ice hockey coach from the United States. He is serving as head coach of Austrian team HC TWK Innsbruck.

Playing career

Pallin started skating at the age of three in his hometown Chisholm, Minnesota. He played for the Austin Mavericks and helped them win the 1984 USHL championship.

He played ice hockey at the University of Minnesota-Duluth (1985–87), before transferring to Western Michigan University in 1988. Following graduation, Pallin turned pro and played in Germany, France as well as for the Las Vegas Aces in the PSHL and WCHL sides Reno Rage and Fresno Falcons.

Coaching career

Pallin began his coaching career in Las Vegas, where he coached at the AA Midget 18 under and 16 under level and AAA Midget 18 under level. [1] [2] In 2006, he was named head coach of the UNLV Hockey Club of the American Collegiate Hockey Association. [3]

In 2011, he joined the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL as an assistant coach. [4] In 2013, Pallin moved back to Europe, accepting the head coach position of Hungarian club SAPA Fehervar AV19, which competes in the Austrian top-flight EBEL. [5] [6] They parted ways in January 2016. A couple of weeks later, fellow EBEL team HC TWK Innsbruck announced that Pallin has been appointed head coach of the club for the 2016–17 season. [7]

Hydro Fehérvár AV19 is a Hungarian professional ice hockey team that plays in the Austrian bet-at-home ICE Hockey League. They were founded in 1960 and played from 1978 in the Hungarian Országos Bajnokság I through sorts of affiliations until 2012, claiming the Championship on 13 occasions. They play their home games at Ifjabb Ocskay Gábor Ice Hall in Székesfehérvár. In 2009, the club was renamed after the main sponsor Sapa Profiles Kft Hungary, the Hungarian subsidiary of a Swedish aluminum group. The 2016–17 Austrian Hockey League season began on 15 September 2016 and ended on 7 April 2017. The defending champion was EC Red Bull Salzburg. On April 7, the Vienna Capitals won the Austrian Hockey Championship for the 2nd time in their history.

The 2017–18 Austrian Hockey League season began on 8 September 2017 and ended on 20 April 2018. The defending champion were the Vienna Capitals. On 20 April 2018, HC Bolzano won the Austrian Hockey Championship for the 2nd time in their history.

The 2019–20 Austrian Hockey League season began on 13 September 2019. The defending champion's are EC KAC.
