Robby Swift

Robby Swift (K-89) is a British Professional Windsurfer. (born 1984 in Great Britain). Competing internationally in the PWA World Tour as a wave/freestyle sailor. He is currently team rider for Neil Pryde and JP Australia and sponsored by many other companies such as Mystic Windsurfing. He is named after the legend Robby Naish. He was the Youth World Champion, in Racing and Slalom 2000. [1]

Windsurfing harness

A windsurfing harness is part of the trapeze used in the sports of windsurfing and kitesurfing to connect the rider to the rig by a line attached to the boom or kitesurfing bar. It consists of a girdle-like contraption that is worn around the body, with a hook for attachment. Hooking-in the harness is done by pulling the sail toward the body and hooking into the harness lines on the boom. The harness turns windsurfing into a long lasting activity, taking the weight of the sail off the arms of the windsurfer.

Land windsurfing

Land windsurfing, also known as “Terrasailing”, “street sailing”, “land sailing” and “dirt windsurfing”, is a sport similar to traditional windsurfing that is performed on land rather than water. A four wheeled deck, similar to a mountain board or skateboard deck, is commonly used in conjunction with a mast and sail in order to project the board across land.

Nicholas Charles Dempsey is a British windsurfer, who lives in Poole, Dorset. He became the first man to win three Olympics medals in windsurfing when he won silver in the 2016 Rio Olympics, adding to a silver won in the 2012 London Olympics, and a bronze from the 2004 Athens Olympics. He is also twice world champion, winning gold in 2009 and 2013.

The International Speed Windsurfing Class (ISWC) is a class of speed windsurfing boards that has developed over the last 30 years in order to facilitate high performance competition in strong winds and on flat water. The International Speed Windsurfing Class is controlled by the International Sailing Federation and has been adopted as an international class in spring 2007. The class is defined as an "experimental" class, which means that the class rules give a wide possibility for the development of new equipment, also outside commonly used technologies. Speed windsurfing events are normally held on "flat water" as opposed to coastal surf; which means side-offshore wind directions with a strength of at least 20 knots (10 m/s). The ISWC speed world champion is established throughout a tour, the Speed World Cup.

The Aloha Classic is the most prestigious event in the world of windsurfing. Held at Ho'okipa Beach Park on the north shore of Maui, this event has the best wave riding conditions and the best riders form all over the world. The event takes place each year in late October and early November, the time with the best waves and wind. Since 2011 it has been run by the '''International Windsurfing Tour''' (IWT) as the final event of the IWT Wave Tour. It is often also part of the PWA Windsurf World Cup.

Krišjānis Tūtāns Latvian windsurfer

Krišjānis Tūtāns is a windsurfing celebrity from Latvia, who entered the sport at the age of 13. His father Uldis Tūtāns was one of the windsurfing pioneers in Latvia, and under his influence the whole family became involved with windsurfing. Krišjānis's sister Gundega Tūtāne is one of the best Latvian female windsurfers in wave class.

RS:X

RS:X is a windsurfing class selected by the ISAF to replace the Mistral One Design Class for the 2008 Summer Olympics. The discipline has similarities to Formula Windsurfing - mainly in that the equipment used was designed to allow windsurfing in low and moderate wind conditions with good performance.

The women's RS:X was a sailing event on the Sailing at the 2012 Summer Olympics program in Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy. Eleven races were scheduled and completed. 27 sailors, on 27 boards, from 27 nations competed. Ten boards qualified for the medal race on course area Nothe in front of Weymouth, where each position scored double points.

Paweł Tarnowski (sailor) Polish windsurfer

Paweł Aleksander Maria Tarnowski is a Polish sailor, son of Jacek Tarnowski, and Monika Wanicka. Tarnowski already competed at the top-level when he was a teenager, becoming a multiple medal winner in Junior World Championships. In 2011 and 2012, he won a gold medal at the RS:X Junior World Championships, and he won medals in European Champion. In first he started in classes Techno 293 Class and at present RS:X, (including in a category age under 17 and under 21 years of age.
He is sometimes seen as a model in commercials, including polish company Atlas or on the cover of album Superheroes : Chapter One - Courage of the band Synthphonia.
